You should get a FiveseveN Forum account so you can peruse the reloading section. A member there has done a ton of pressure testing to find ‘max’ with powders and projectiles.

Got it last night and “assembled” today.

Seems well made and finished, controls are easy, size is very small. Haven’t shot it cause I don’t have any macro mags yet. Whoops.

Also going to need a threaded barrel if I want to use with my can.

This is for size comparison.

Rattler is an SBR and 5.5” barrel. AR is a 14.5” and feels like a long boi in comparison.

Damn thats crazy small.

I didnt think I wanted a 365 flux but with that size comparison and the hilarious flux marketing I may reconsider….

how much clearance is there is for a wider can? Would something like a DA Wolfman (1.618" diameter) fit?

It is looking more and more tempting. I signed up for notification when they are back in stock. I have a P365xl with threaded barrel I don't carry often anymore that'd be perfect to swap over to a Raider.

Did the chassis come with the barrel cover thing? If it does, would you mind measuring the width of that thing for me? I'm wondering if a slim 1.1" DA Odessa can would fit in the Flux holster, which seems to fit the chassis with the barrel shroud attached.

Finished my Rattler in .300 Blackout last week and it’s already my favorite gun. I got it to be PDW on trips, but there is Just something about it that makes it an absolute hoot to shoot.

Same here. Originally got the Rattler for straight utility as a PDW, was pleasantly surprised the first time I took it to the range.

I started with the Virtus 11.5” 5.56, then got more barrels and eventually snagged a rattler too.

The Virtus with a 6.75” 300blk barrel, cgs hyperion suppressor and sd rail is my favorite gun.

But having something similar but smaller with the rattler is great.  Almost impossible to beat the rattler if you want a rifle that can be transported discretely.

This is why I got it, and for a “house gun” since even suppressed it’s shorter than an 11” sbr. Also wanted shortest OAL with AR controls. Stuff like the tavor is short but I’ve been shooting ARs for 2 decades and wanted to not have to think in an emergency.

Ended up being a good call when there was an active shooter murdering cops on my front yard. My brain went mostly blank till I realized what happened and grabbed the rattler. I do remember thinking “man I wish my can cleared if I have to set this off indoors” but thankfully never came to that.

Now I’m a fan of lots of power in small packages. These kinds of PDWs travel well in non-obvious bags which is helpful if you actually carry them.

Agreed. While not the greatest can in the world, I have a Resonator K direct threaded to the Rattler and the whole package fits in a small 21L Northface backpack.

If you're not using a can, that's not a bad choice. I've done a couple of short barreled builds in the past with that. To my ear it wasn't nearly as loud as I was expecting for that short of barrel.

ETA: Here's a build I did with a Remington contract overrun 11.5" barrel.

When are the (Shrike?) Glock FCUs shown at Shot going to come out?

I have no interest in shooting myself in the ass, so I'm not getting a Sig, and Flux seems to have dropped Glock support.

At least the Glock FCUs have a chance of a PDW chassis.

yeah I saw that.... May wait for the price to drop down to "normal" 365 levels, but that longer slide and mags would be perfect for the Raidr.

So, a general thought experiment on pdws….

I’m driving 400+ miles each way on a road trip next week with my boys.  Staying both at hotels and with family.  Going to be gone from home for a week.

I already have my answer, but thought this might help people in the decision making phase of which pdw to get…which one would you be taking on that trip, the raider or the rattler?

So to expand on this dumbass idea: I already own a Virtus upper/lower with multiple barrels, plus a rattler upper in 300blk.  I was considering building out a lower to use with the conversion kit so the rattler upper would have a dedicated home.  Then I found this video about running a cmmg .22 conversion kit in a 5.56 rattler.

5.56 Sig Rattler Converted to .22LR

So I bought a full 5.56 rattler.  Will sbr the lower so I can use either the rattler stuff or virtus stuff on either, but i will be shooting the .22 conversion rattler in Steel Challenge later this summer.

I’m a firm believer that practice>gear and the idea of getting to practice with the rattler at 22 ammo costs instead of 300blk costs appeals greatly.  Plus I already hit A class in PPCI in steel challenge using a stock iron sight MP5 clone so I’d love to push A or better with a .22 rattler just for the hell of it.

1. Are you going out of state?
2. Is the raider considered a brace?

If the answer to 1 is yes and the answer to 2 is yes, then to play it safe I'd go with the raider.
If the answer to 1 is no, rattler all day.
Option 3 is do whatever you feel necessary to keep you and yours safe; We do not obey tyrants.

Not enough information.

For example, if my road trip includes a National Park, then I can carry a braced pistol on NPS land because I'm licensed to carry in states where I have family.

Cannot be opened from the back, so offers some retention security in that respect. It's also has a place to put a lock on the zipper. Tiny. Also has usb charging.

Holds SP5k, MPX-K and rattler w/o suppressor attached perfectly. EDIT: Sidefolding braces required!

If I am going to carry something off-body, it's going to be my rattler. Otherwise I'm EDCing.

The Flux p365 intrigues me as it's small enough I could conceal it on-body and it's something small, light, and stable enough my wife could even get hits with given she has SI joint, knee, and hand strength issues that makes managing recoil on pistols painful for her and makes supporting heavier rifles also painful for her.

Holds SP5k, MPX-K and rattler w/o suppressor attached perfectly. EDIT: Sidefolding braces required!

@rDigital I carry my rattler in my kid's old backpack from when he was in kindergarten. It's not out of place at all stuffed under his seat in the minivan or slogging through hotel lobbies, as who hasn't seen a slightly grumpy chubby dad sick of carrying his kid's shit around?

part of the reason I like Flux and Rattlers. Many "discreet" bags don't look discreet at all to anyone paying the least bit of attention. The race car themed baby bag is actual grey man in my context.

We've fooled with these and they can be very handy but if you have access to real PDWs they take a backseat quickly.
