It's not cheap whichever route you go. The Galil AR was fairly cheap as I bought the kit and receiver about 7 years ago. The MAR I bought a little over a year ago and just finished assembly about three weeks ago. I am still doing some tweaking. If you don't want to mess with anything, the ACE pistol is the way to go if you are going with a Galil. |

Conversion would be easy. A few places have them in stock for $1600, dissident being one. Only thing you need is a micro handguard and after removing the poly lower, adding a trigger guard which would be easy since the mag release assembly is already there under the poly lower. Add a galil grip, to secure and not y a surplus guard, and get a CNC/bone steel folder and boom, you got a MAR. Cheaper then the $2500+ MAR builds, or buying a $1k kit, another $1000 on a barrel and receiver and then more for labor to get one built. |
