Never take life for granted.  Because regardless of how long you think you have, you just never know, and we're all going to die one day.

Dang. Somehow I just assumed Alex would always be there. My grandfather watched it religiously and it’s something I’ve done myself off and on through the years. I hope somehow he can be healed.

I wonder what Alex is going to do!  Guess we will have to wait and see if he fights it or it is too late.  The fella hasn't looked well for the last 10 years.

Rare form of what type of cancer? She has beaten pancreatic and colon, and now looks like she is beating lung cancer.

I worked with a guy who had pancreatic cancer. He always knew he was going to get it because many in his family had died from it and he had the genetic marker.

Week before last, he was supposed to get the results of some tests that would tell what he was in store for him.

Apparently, it wasn't good. When he got home that evening, he just decided to finish himself rather than fight any more.

Why is a full body CT scan not part of an annual physical?

Seems like so much of this shit could get caught early if that happened.

ETA: After seeing what my mom went through if I am diagnosed with stage 4 anything, I am probably forgoing treatment and making good with what time I have left. They told her a year without treatment, 2-3 with. Chemo was so hard on her she didn't make it a year and most of that year was miserable.

I had something called autoimmune pancreatitis, which has only been getting diagnosed for about 10 years or so.  Prior to that, they treated it as pancreatic cancer and would only discover after the treatment and surgery that it was something else.  They wouldn't have started with chemo, they were going to do the Whipple Procedure on me.  They had a date set for it and everything, but my oncologist wanted to try heavy steroids first since I basically had nothing to lose.  It worked.

Horrible news, he IS Jeopardy.

Like a lot of other posters, I started watching it when I was a little kid with my Grandma every night.

My daughter is a little over 2 now, and she watches it every night with us, even if she has no idea whats going on. I have videos when she was barely crawling, to crawl/walk, to now walking and she always dances to the theme song and says "Jeopardy time!"

There was a video of him on the news this morning.  Alex said something like "I'm going to continue working because I love the show, I enjoy working, blah, blah... and I am required to work for three more years due to MY CONTRACT... "
He really stressed the words "my contract".  Like wanted to get out of his contract, but couldn't really say that.

Here ya go.

That was already posted, and the contract thing was a bit of dry humor on his part. He loves the work, i can't remember a time when he didnt host the show even when he was sick, or a few years ago when he blew out a knee or his Achilles chasing someone that robbed him.
