Man on Fire or Law Abiding Citizen? Watched them both recently. I go with Man on Fire. Better ending and Denzel is the shit. LAC does have some great and brutal ways to end some people tough. I just wish he would have survived. What are some other great revenge movies?

I love a good revenge movie and there's so many to choose from it's impossible to pick one. I mean, Unforgiven turns into a revenge flick at the end. It's such a great / common trope. Rocky IV was a good revenge flick. Death Wish? There's a zillion of them.

The ending didn't fit the rest of the movie. I have no problem with him dying, but the way it happened was bullshit and ruined the movie.

Man on Fire out of those two. Should have kept the original ending though.

Of the options, Man On Fire

Honorable mentions: The Count of Monte Cristo, Payback, Death Wish and a straight-to-Netflix movie with Kevin Bacon that I'm drawing a blank on the name of. He's an everyday dude who goes after the guys that killed his son. My only gripe is they go way overboard on how they portray him not knowing anything about guns. I'm pretty sure an adult's seen enough people load a gun in movies, and on TV that they could figure it out in real life.

LAC was a great movie up until the last 15 minutes.
Fucking right...Jamie Foxx beats a fucking super-brain.

Bullshit.

MoF was much better.

Man on Fire isn't a revenge movie. The character's goal is to rescue the girl, not get revenge. So, it's not a revenge movie. Unless you're referring to the original one starring Scott Glenn, because I don't know much about that original Man on Fire movie. John Wick is a better revenge movie than Law Abiding Citizen. Law Abiding Citizen was a disappointment. The previews made it appear that Butler's character was seeking revenge against the murderers that murdered his wife and child and against the crooked Assistant District Attorney who made a deal to let them off. That was not what that movie was about. Just a man seeking vengeance on the murderers as well as those officers of the court that weren't corrupt as the previews seemed to indicate.

A much, much better "revenge" movie was Bruce Lee in "The Big Boss." Lee's character, Cheng Chao-An, moves to a small town to work with his relatives at an ice factory. The owner is using the factory to smuggle drugs in the ice and murders his entire family when some of them discover the truth. Cheng Chao-An kills the owner's son and his hench men and later goes to his compound to kill the owner and the rest of his henchmen. He kills all of them. Now, that's a true revenge movie. Another good one was "Wanted: Dead or Alive." Bounty Hunter Rutger Hauer's character is targeted by terrorist Gene Simmon's character who murders his girlfriend and best friend. He goes all out to find him and kill him, taking out his terrorist associates along the way.

Much better revenge movies than the ones that Op presented.

The scene at the end where he shoves the grenade in Simmon's mouth is a great climax. Especially after the FBI agent tells him that he will get a bonus for bringing him in alive, after he murdered his girlfriend and best friend.

I just watched LAC a couple hours ago.

I love the movie, but the director confused who the protagonist and antagonist were in the film, therefore totally botched the ending.

It could have been biblical, like V for Vendetta.

John Wick is better than both of those. And a pure revenge film.
