A-pillar or roof line decapitated and the horn kept the head hooked on the windshield.

I’ve seen a moose completely opened up by the roof line and gutted.  Entire abdomen and chest contents into the passenger compartment.  Dude was alive but covered head to toe in goo.  Both floorboards were filled all the way up with guts.

ETA: where the roof meets the windshield can be very sharp when the windshield is torn away.

Car looks to be in decent shape for striking such a large sheep. A horse destroyed my mothers Cadillac Eldorado and nearly killed her and her friend.

I worked a donkey versus Ford Explorer like that in 2003. The driver was covered in shit.

Did the vehicle occupants survive?  Windshield caved in but intact.  Passenger window looks intact.  They should mount the Bighorn.

My grandmothers friend, oddly enough also in a Cadillac Eldo, died when she struck a deer. Worst part was, it wasn’t dead when it came through the windshield, but basically thrashed and gored her to death, dying shortly after

Looks like the sheep came in from the passenger side and the first contact was the left horn/head to the windshield.

Head then broke the windshield and got hooked and momentum tore the head off leaving the body.

Driver is probably fine. Passenger maybe not.

A horse’s height makes that a dangerous collision. They roll across
the hood , into the windshield .

Exactly what happened. My mom and her friend had lots of glass in the face. If the A pillars had given away instead of folding they would have been killed.

Moose too.  Not a preferred way to get a night off from work.

Animals are always trying to get even.
In Alaska a couple times moose tried to end me, here in Idaho Elk are always blending into the woods on the side of roads, and deer exhibit suicidal tendencies ever day an hour before sunrise and half hour after sunset.

In twenty plus years I’ve seen some crazy and disturbing losses.  Multiple deer killing motorcyclist.  Multiple compact cars going under cows or horses crushing the roof.  One of the worst and I’ll stay up front every one ended up ok.

Early teens F150 when they had the pearl white exterior and almost white leather.  Nanna and Gramps riding along.  Antlered deer goes through the windshield, gores Nanna in the head neck area then out the back glass and lands in the bed.  I’ve never seen so much blood in an auto accident. Nanna spent some time in the hospital but was ok eventually.

I have always looked at the hood and windshield and thought there’s got to be a madmax safety bar I could install…

But more like the aviation cable cutters on helos…

Eta:  or a catch fence….

I was getting my wife’s car troubleshot at a mechanics,  and there was a car in the lot that had a 12-14 inch hole in the windshield,  12 O’clock, above the steering wheel and dash.   I should call and ask about it…
