Also not all HPV infections lead to cancer, it's just as likely that not all injections would lead to cancer, unless perhaps it's just engineered to deliberately cause cancer. Where's the logic in that? Engineer something that causes cancer in whatever population is willing to be injected, and doesn't affect whoever doesn't cooperate? While such an illogical scenario would cause problems, it's still going to be far from the near extinction event described in The Stand. |

J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is set in a world where human civilization was uttery destroyed, almost wiped out, by a plague. Yes, there were wars, but a formerly great civilization was in ruins (literally) because of a plague. |
