Interesting fact, the movie is somewhat based on the Hendrix racing team, Harry Hyde(crew chief), and driver Tim Richmond (Cole Trickle). Also, Rowdy Burns is the Dale Earnhardt of the movie.

I named my son after this movie.
Well kind of a combination of this and Talladega nights. We hadn’t decided on a name yet when the ex was pregnant. Was watching Talladega nights and the part where he’s running across the track screaming save me Tom Cruise made me laugh and think of Days of Thunder which is when I looked at my ex and was like how about Cole? And she was like hey, like that! So the. i was like how about Cole Trickle? She was like let’s just stick with the Cole part.
