Did anybody catch what class that Imperial cruiser was? I did and then I forgot..
Nvr mind.. Cantwell class Arrestor Cruiser... Apparently it was one of the first Star Destroyer Cruiser designs pitched to George Lucas in 1977. Firstly though, a bit about its history. The Cantwell-class cruiser was designed by Colin Cantwell in 1977, pitching it to George Lucas as the first design for the Imperial Star Destroyer. However, Cantwell’s design would be rejected in favour of a different one. This unique class of Star Destroyer is shaped more like an arrowhead than the traditional wedge shape, and features three powerful dish shaped tractor beams, one to the port side, one to the starboard side, and one on the bow. These tractor beams were ideal for pulling in enemy vessels for capture and interrogation, pushing enemy ships away, or holding them at the ideal distance for the Cantwell’s ion cannons to disable enemy ships. The soundtrack to this series is wonderful. I watched Luthen escape repeatedly to listen to the background music.
The possibility that he’s a Jedi or even a turned Sith (given the color of ship-sabres) is very intriguing. ETA: I don’t know if he’s Sith trained. Isn’t there only supposed to be two at any given time? I’m not sure where that would fit in the timeline for him. I bet he’s Jedi. |

Only one episode left and I don't know how they're going to be able to wrap up some of these storylines, especially with Syril and Dedra. There's already too much plot.

When Luthen folded his “wings” in, did the ship resemble a Sith ship for a second even before fricking laser beams shot out?

I'm leaning dark side user that got tossed or used by the Empire and he is seeking revenge by manipulating the regular people to rise up. Besides, his toys are way cooler. |
|
|
I don't think Luthen is a jedi or ex temple guard. Reason I say this is the grand inquisitor was in fact a jedi temple guard and would probably recognize him. He would also recognize him if he were a jedi. I could be wrong so who knows what they end up doing with his character.

|
Luthen could just be a neutral force user, neither Jedi nor Sith. Hopefully we find out next week.

That scene was cool, although I was perplexed as to why a TIE Bomber was deployed against him. View Quote TIE Bombers can carry proton and concussion torpedoes as well as ion cannons while TIE Fighters generally have nothing but laser cannons. A single TIE Bomber would probably be deployed as such to be a missile truck or disable the hauler if needed, though it seemed like they were set to just destroy it unless the TIE Fighters were just trying to intimidate it into surrender. If you notice Luthien (or his droid) takes out the TIE Bomber first. It's the greatest threat of capture against his craft after he disables the tractor beam generator on the cruiser. |

If he was Sith trained, he crossed over to the Jedi side. He could have stolen that ship from Darth Maul or some other Sith. Or taken the Kyber crystals from a Sith source that had already altered them/made them bleed (depending on the version of red sabers you go by). |
