It can't. But I've heard of rabies shots being given for snakebite too.

I remember reading a story a few years ago about a group of Haitian guys who are picking up frozen iguanas all over the place in Miami. Turns out once they were in the car the iguanas all start waking up and driving the passengers out of the car, screaming like lunatics. Wish there was a video!

Brown the seasoned meat for a few minutes, and add to the sauce piquante, then simmer for about ten minutes.  Serve over cooked rice.

I live on a lake and have a ton.  Haven't seen any falling out of trees.
I should go out tonight.
They decimate my bougainvillea every chance they get.
I mean eat it bare.
It hasnt bloomed it years.
They have about 30 seconds of energy and if cornered will poop out and can be grabbed.

I have a alcove by my front door that I will catcj them in.
I will then chuck them in the lake.
I dont feel like killing them but hate them for killing my plants.

Eating plants you don't want them to eat? or the fruit and berries off your trees? also big incubators for staph.

I saw a big one tear up a kid I went to school with once...we were throwing rocks at the iguana when it went apeshit
jumped outta the tree onto the kids back...
The screaming from all of us was epic...
The kid got full rabies and antibiotic shots and a lot of stitches...
Ironic as the kid's nickname was "Lucky"...Lucky Smith...poor kid was hurting for a long time...

I lived in South FL for 10 years, saw a few Iguanas but I guess after I left this became the norm.  I used to have geckos all over my house, little bastards are not shy to bite if you trap them (this is a no shit sherlock moment though... ).

I agree Iguanas are an invasive species but what are they doing that makes them so harmful?

If you're talking about antivenom, charging 80k per vial gets them a beautiful return already. Wholesale cost for Crofab is $3800.

The fuck? Rabies shots for a reptile attack?

Animal planet had a show called "I was Bitten". Goy got bitten and constricted by a big python. Doctors ordered rabies shots. Guy said snakes are cold blooded and can't carry rabies. Doctors said they eat warm blooded animals that can cary rabies and gave him the shots.

Venom and snakebites are such a small part of med school that unless the doctor pursues an interest on his own there is a very good chance that an advanced reptile keeper knows more than a doctor about treating a snakebite.
