Stupid question, but as a public company can the board force individual shareholders to sell? I looked it up, but it would appear that it is tied with stock restrictions - but I would have assumed stock restrictions would need to be in place before the IPO.

If enough increased value is offered, Joe Blow can be forced to sell his 2 shares. |

This will be one for the books.
The board seat was actually their first attempt at trying to fend it off. Companies like Morgan Stanley and Vanguard may support liberal values publicly, but what they really are a fan of is money. Morgan Stanley has already said they'd help finance the transaction so that's an early sign of where they align. Let's do this. |

The way people are reacting you would think that Musk was announcing that he was installing Trump on the board of Twitter.

As the largest single shareholder of Twitter, can he sue the board for rejecting his offer on the basis that they didn’t do their fiduciary duty and accept his offer?

Twitter has helped me make a lot of money. Social media is a valuable tool with tremendous potential, but like any tool is dangerous if misused or abused. Unfortunately virtually all of it has been bastardized from a revolutionary form of personal communication into a very effective mechanism for social engineering... a lot of it directed towards young folks who haven't yet accumulated enough real-life experience to recognize how much of it is horseshit. |
