That what should be considered a dirty joke of an organization is given any serious consideration by Federal agencies is a complete travesty.

To me it’s an illegitimate front that the statists in government utilize and coordinate with to generate “justification” for cracking down on those unwilling to get with the program.

If you look at the last thread announcing the leak of this report, the first thing I mentioned is that I bet the source material for this came from either SPLC or ADL because it wreaked of their involvement.

If you read the report the analyst is going after small splinter factions of devout Catholics.  I bet money the agent/analyst who came up with this turd, as actually a devout north eastern catholic since it came out of the Virginia office. You know The Biden/Kennedy/Pelosi type of Catholic.  The kind that is on Church every sunday, dressed to the nines, but Monday through Saturday will destroy your life, embezzle funds , cheat on their significant other, and indulge their children's behaviors, like drugs,drinking, premarital sex, co-living or the occasional abortion. But what they can't stand are Catholics that question the pope, or won't accept  socialist agends, gay marriage and abortion as necessary parts of the society.

Big difference from SSPX to Latin mass.  SSPX was at one point excommunicated IIRC.  They publicly did not recognize current Pope's.  Latin Mass Catholics for the most part recognize what Vatican II said, just not specifically how it was warped in interpretation.  My humble interpretations are that Vatican II did not actually do much that was bad and much that was good - the interpretation's however were all over the fucking place.

Vatican II had a lot more could's in it that must's.  Mass could be conducted in a local language.  Mass could be co-celebrated my multiple priests (before each priest had to conduct their own mass - even if they were at the same time and place).  It defined a couple brief times during the mass where the priest should face the congregation (not that the priest must face the congregation during the majority of the mass).  It said when possible the church should be constructed with a free standing alter - not that old high alters should be removed, or even free standing high alters were not still preferable (it can easily be argued that even before Vatican II, free standing high alters were already preferable-just more difficult to build and maintain properly).

Most catholic churches I know have (one's local to me) have fought back in small ways.  They have tried to bring back the beauty into churches that were raped of all thing's Catholic by the idiots in the 60's.  My local Church was turned into one of the bland Love and Peace churches during the 60's.  We started with putting in small murals, now we have our high alter back (not free standing, but still have a small free standing low alter), over Covid - we even started putting back in roof murals (I don't think we ever had a full painted roof).  We don't have sung masses yet - simply not something our local priest want's to do - but other churches near us have started singing mass again.  Putting in a Latin mass is much more difficult - it requires Priests and alter server's who are trained to do it.  That essentially requires changes at the seminary level plus a local Catholic School that is staffed and willing to help.

Per SSPX website, there are 85 SSPX priests in the US, and 103 chaplets, with about 1k members (up to 25k "attending").  They have 1 Bishop.  Outside their website, their ex-communication was lifted in 2009 - but "a" bishop was excommunicated again in 2015.  As such, they are kind of ex-communicated again (I think part of the problem is they are not allowed to create new priests without getting ex-communicated again).
