This thread is great—real golf.
I’ve learned more about golf from this thread than two years of watching Paige Spiranac videos. |

Trump owns golf courses. I am sure he is a decent golfer. Proof that he hits well? If he didn't, we would have every media outlet showing video that he sux.
Haven't seen that video, so I am willing to bet he hits it good. I worked at a golf course during college. Some of the best golfers were the old geezers with ugly swings, but they knew the course and where to hit it. They would hit hard spots and get extra distance from the roll. Plus if you play the same course all the time you get better AT THAT COURSE. A pro can play well anywhere. |

When a lot of people say they are X handicap what they really mean is once they got close to 6 over par. Close and only once. Getting an actual handicap is involved if you are not just guessing and throwing a number out there.
I played with a guy that before the round talked about how low his handicap was. He didn't turn in his card and was like "Why would I do that?" He also didn't shoot anywhere near his handicap. |

pretty sure JRB said he has a "sex handicap." Not six.
I had a boss who was a big golfer and he had a 4 handicap, even with his bum knee. You can usually tell if a golfer is good or bad just seeing a few of their swings and hits. |

If you can't drive 270 plus down the center of the fairway there's no way you're a six handicap. Biden couldn't hit it 80 yards on a GOOD day.

I probably average 240. 270 is a big drive for me now. I am currently a 6.4 handicap. Being straight and consistent with a decent short game will get you low. |
