If the fuel is alcohol-gas, water in the fuel probably isn't responsible unless there's a lot of it.

I decided to go for one today as well. All in all, a very nice unit and compares pretty well with my Honda EU2000i. Ran it for about two hours today to start the break in and it's very smooth and quiet.

It does have a Yamaha engine in it:

The owner's manual is all over the place and it looks like the labeling is as well. It calls for a NGK BP4H spark plug, but when I looked at the manual for a Yamaha EF2000i, it calls out a NGK BPR6HS plug:

So I pulled the plug and it is a BPR6HS:

Not sure if the different heat range is for the Chinese engined version of their generator (SUA2000i).

Now to decide if I want to get a second one for paralleling.

ETA: Packaging says 58dBA

i checked a couple of zip codes, and it seems to be available both on the east and west coast.

I saw it looked like the quip-all after I put that it seemed similar to the pulsar, but hadn't gone back to add that. Since the hurricane season is quiet, the generators may not sell well, and so will get discounted after it sits there for a few weeks to a month if it hasn't sold. I would say that the $350 price is okay, but for mid hurricane season, considered a good price if anyone was looking for one.

aldi had 5000btu window ac units for $100, that didn't sell at an aldi I go to, and so I got one to add to my hurricane preps for $50. I don't think the generators will sit long, though.

Ran a toaster oven, movie projector, charged radios off the 12VDC while running for other tasks.
Did great!

note - the aldi workforce / pulsar is 2000w max 1600 running

the quipall looks to be 2200w max, and per ebay ad, 1700w rating

so the internal inverter section is probably different between the two, as is the slightly different arrangement in the output panel

between the 2, if you don't get charged tax, the quipall may be a better deal, especially if there is an ebay coupon on it

They sold a lot of these generators yesterday.

I don't think the vendor can limit the coupon since it's from e-bay, and doesn't affect the vendor's bottom line.
