Rifle is out with 40 rd PMAG at ready and I observe and record with my security cameras. Hopefully it can read a plate and capture individuals and their faces. Once I do, I take my blue and red laser pointer and hit their rear view mirrors. A few seconds later the floodlights come on and hopefully they drive off.
Seems like individuals were poorly casing the property. I'd be curious to see what the exited individuals were looking at or interacting with on my property. eta: all you exiting your position of advantage in the house and putting yourself in a 1 vs 4 situation

Sneak out and get to the rear of the vehicle. Start pounding on the trunk, then quickly duck out of sight. Make them wonder who or what it was. If they don't leave, do it again. If they still don't leave, go around the house and approach from the front with weapon drawn, gun light on shining in their faces, and demanding to know why they're there and what they're doing and what they want.
And I may find a way to tie their vehicle down so they can't leave (strap around the rear axle or through one of the rear tires). And then keep fucking with them. I wouldn't give a shit if it might be illegal. You're on MY property. And you'll be subject to MY rules. |

From the side of the house to the edge of the driveway is the width of one rhubarb plant, approximately 2-3ft. Drop of about 5-8ft. I have a long driveway, any car approaching the house is video/audio recorded as soon as they pull into the driveway. I would be observing from within, rifle in arm's reach. 30 minutes though? Floodlights come on, you get a warm "welcome" from yours truly about what the fuck is going on and/or why they're on my property for such an extended period of time.

I probably would not notice since I am already in the bed by that hour and I tend to ignore the kids (20s to 30s) who live in the rental properties on my street and seem to come and go at all hours of the day in noisy little cars and motorcycles.
I do keep 2 loaded pistols and a loaded AR in the bedroom with me at night (each with a light). Unless I hear one of my 2 doors to my house open or a window break, I doubt I would do anything. People who use cell phones for navigation can get easily lost, especially if they don't understand what they are doing. |

I'd flip on all the outside lights and make it clear someone is home and aware of their presence. Have phone in hand and SD weapon within arms reach.
If the car is in your driveway I'd only give them a few minutes of this sort of obscure behavior before I'd dial 911. Once called I might step to the door (SD weapon concealed & ready) to let them know you're not happy with their presence. They might just be checking directions. At some point they leave or help arrives. |
