Not just millennials, but other age groups too.

society is fucked up, prices on homes insane, wages not keeping up with inflation, used cars crazy expensive, inflation, fuel prices, electricity high, and 1000 other things big and small.

Millennials and others wanna blame the boomer generation, and in general, that’s bullshit, because said millennials are hugely responsible for their own problems, they took a bad situation, and instead of fixing it, they made it 10x worse.

How ?

Take Obama for example, FBHO, and Biden, and the related laws, bills, cash for clunkers, fucked up trade deals, shuttering pipelines, out of control spending, climate change added expenses to fuel, electricity, open borders x 1000. ( 30 million illegals suck up a shit load of used cars, trucks, housing, jobs, rentals, and gov benefits )

Where do they think that shit comes from ? H1b visa Indians are replacing Americans in skilled well paying jobs in droves, you can’t vote for climate change fighting taxes and not make everything more expensive. Millennials and others were rabid supporters of FBHO, voted him into office twice, re-elected Biden a dozen times, elected Hillary, elected AOC, and others. They put these assholes in power, the millennials SJW agenda, climate change worship, illegal alien pampering .

So, stop trying to blame the previous generation for your problems when your own generation, and your own beliefs are wrecking hints 10x worse than anything the previous generations did.

Pretty much, blaming the previous generation for their problems when in reality their own behavior, beliefs, voting habits, etc are creating a even worse situation, damn sure not helping fix the shit they cry about nonstop and blame on previous generations.

Boom.

There is blame that needs to be laid at the feet of every living generation.  Obama was a boomer, Biden is a part of the silent generation.  Look at voting number per generation for their respective elections.  Then realize many of the laws that are causing the downfall of our great nation have been around for a long while now.

Boomers are the first entitled generation and really ramped up a lot of the issues we face today, and they did a shit job patenting and adulting in many cases.

To be fair, many of the problems that exist in the US are due to governmental policy. Most politicians are not millennials.

Furthermore, those politicians have been voting at least partly due to their voting blocks and special interests. For a long time, the largest active voting block is boomers.

Sure, millennials have some responsibility for their own individual situation, but I would argue the broader environment was getting titled before they ever had a say in it.

This was my thought as well. A lot of people still think millennials are the 18-21 crowd that are entering the workforce today. In fact, millennials by this point might be the hiring manager.

Your thesis looks to be, "Shut up millennials! You voted for the wrong boomers, and you should take the blame for policies and laws put in place by boomers while you were still in diapers"?

Don't get me wrong, millennials are hot garbage. Regardless of how shit millennials are, boomers don't get off the hook for selling out America, raiding the treasury, and teaching future generations how to be hot garbage.

And where did that all start? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't with the millennials. It was mostly the boomers that put the boomers there.

You sound like you are under the impression there are like 200 million millennials running around the US.

Most (not all) millennials voted for Obama, but he was elected by the "but what about my Medicare" geriatrics, rabid social anarchists (gays, groomers, femnazis, etc.), and yes a contingent of Millennials that didn't know any better.

The only R president and of us really remember in our lifetime (to that point) was RINO Bush2.0, and somehow that's our fault? Can you be surprised a generation that grew up watching a national media normalize a man-whore President is easily manipulated into following a ChangeSavior (tm)?

Edit: clarified past-tense

So you're saying that boomers made the problem, but you made a post blaming millennials for not fixing it? Meanwhile, most millennials aren't in a position of power to make the change you imply is needed?

The difference is that boomers unquestionably have the power. Millennials don't. Not for macro societal issues.

I might as well start blaming my unborn grandchildren for the mess they'll grow up in. Yeah, the world is fucked, but hey, fix it if you don't like it, amiright? They oughta pull themselves up by their diaper straps and fix things!

I'm one of the earliest Millennials. By the time I was old enough to get into the workforce, most of the work in my hometown had already been gutted and sent to Mexico. It hasn't really recovered, and the best jobs there are a couple of prisons and a casino. Otherwise it's all government bennies, drugs, and retirees.

I had nothing to do with it, but the population is down 30k due to everyone leaving, like I ended up doing.

I don't have any problems to blame on anyone, I'm doing more than well enough. But I get to see the result of policies I couldn't vote for or against every time I go home to visit.

There's plenty of blame to go around, no one generation owns the whole pie.

Just quoting your first sentence here.....

So who IS responsible for home prices? wages? inflation? fuel prices? energy prices?

I mean, I think even GD can come to some consensus about how this happened, and I'd argue you really can't pen much blame on millennials for this one.

https://ropercenter.cornell.edu/how-groups-voted-2008

2008. Yes, 18-29 (would be millennials maybe late Gen X in 2008) turned out higher for Obama. However, combined more Gen x / boomer / greatest generation voted for him.  By a lot. Only 18% of voters were in that age range.

2012:

https://ropercenter.cornell.edu/how-groups-voted-2012

Same story. Only 19% of voters were 18-29 year olds - solidly millennials then.  Which, sure leaned Obama.

So 65-66% of 18-19% of voters got a president elected eh? So for Obama in 2008, that represents 6.9 million votes.

McShitstain still would have lost by over 4 million votes. Even if every Obama voting millennial didn’t vote.

2012, Romney would of won by ~1m voted if every single millennial, who voted for Obama, didn’t vote. Which would of been recounted since it would be under a 1% margin.

Taking out the millennials that voted in 2012 for Romney, he would of still lost to Obama.

You know OP, there are like… facts here.

And if millennial are getting blamed for Obama. I’m blaming boomers for Clinton, the machine gun ban man, and carter.

Maybe shitty boomers should stop running for office?

I don't think millenials are responsible for obama.
81 - 96 means in 2008 you only would have had about 9 years worth of millenials eligible to vote and many may not have. 2012 and still not all eligible to vote.

Who picked obama in the primaries?

Who has been thr vast majority sitting in congress and shit passing all this garbage?

Sorry but boomers were solidly at the helm and raised millennials.

Meh the boomers created this trainwreck.

They lost the school system, destruction of the family was on their watch, let the media go unchecked, still watch MSM, allowed the massive government expansion, etc.  Millennials are not old enough to have influenced the decisions that led up to the shit show we have and now that they are you could argue they were raised in the world boomers created.  Their outlook on the world is through the lens boomers gave them.

Sure, millennials are a shit show but there is nothing more clear than the boomers created what we have today.  Some by radical extremist action (leftists), some by complete inaction (right) and some for being useful idiots for the left (too many in the middle).

I think boomers are just appalled of the turd they created and just want to put that shit on someone else.  FWIW I think the boomers are a perfect example of what not to allow happen over a generation.  Not saying millennials are without blame but the millennials are literally the seeds of the boomers.

All that said, I don't think it is of any benefit to blame the various generations.  Every generation alive can be part of the solution.  That is where the focus should be.

You do realize that boomers are the ones who don't want changes to social security, medicare, and medicaid entitlements, and it's typically the younger people who want these reforms, right?

BTW - IIRC, the Romney/Ryan ticket had included this as one of their campaign issues -- to start to cut payments for social security, and reform medicare/medicaid for older gens so that something would be left for younger gens and the budget could eventually balance. Guess who had a problem with that? To use your words... the people "wanting the shit they promise".
