James Bond is a man's name. 007 is a MI6 designation. I don't have an issue with MI6 giving it to a hamster, but calling the hamster James Bond is questionable. I think the premise here will be James retires, his number is reissued. She needs help, they pull him out of retirement - but not as 007.
The real question is will this be a one off, or will they decide to fuck the franchise and use this as a transition. |

It sounds like she's just a "fill in" while Bond is 'retired' (but implicitly comes back). Of course it is the 'woke' choice (it would never be anything else).
I am one Black woman, if it were another Black woman cast in the role, it would have been the same conversation, she would have got the same attacks, the same abuse. I just have to remind myself that the conversation is happening and that I'm a part of something that will be very, very revolutionary. Who the fuck is giving her 'abuse'? I can't imagine she gets any more hate mail than any other celebrity (especially in a role *designed* to be provocative). Her mail is probably far more likely to point out her gender and race because that seems likely to be her most sensitive spot (making fun of Daniel Craig for being a white man is probably not really that insulting to him). |

Almost every James Bond movie involves James rescuing the girl. Most likely that is exactly what this one will entail - only the girl is probably a lesbian. the real question is not THIS movie, it is the next movie and the direction taken after this plot. |
