Basically when a buddy told him he was being investigated (unfairly), he panicked. It would be like if Ben became a CI on Arfcom to get one of the numerous fishing expeditions he gets harassed with to go away. And that is what kills it for me. You can be a "stand up guy" your whole life until that "one time" ....but then you are not a stand up guy anymore. It only takes one "isolated incident" to turn a stand up guy into a shitbird. (yes, I know the I.I. terminology is typically the ACAB rallying cry, but I think this applies.) There are ton's of shitbirds out there that only did one bad thing.... but they DID THE BAD THING.
