Gravity was the anti-The Martian.

It was impressive for its visuals... but wow you really had to suspend disbelief related to any basic knowledge or orbital mechanics or even high school physics.

Doing multi-km/s dV orbital inclination changes in your spacesuit aside, The story/everything else was just kinda lame. Could not get into it at any level.

Citizen Kane. Besides some of the camera work I never understood what the big deal was. My film studies professor didn’t agree with me.

This thread is basically a list of:

popular tard movies like Top Gun and Fast and Furious

popular non-tard movies like Big Lebowski and There Will Be Blood

that arfcommers hate because they hate everything on earth

the point is, you can't think of ANY movie those some arfcommer doesn't hate, so the thread statistically amounts to a random list of movies

logically, the list of "Movies that were popular but actually sucked" should be really truly bad movies that were successful, and then years later everyone is trying to remember why they were popular

like "Saturday night fever" or "porkys"

both are bad films that absolutely did not age well but were a big hit for reasons nobody can remember

Wonder Woman. It’s okay for what it is, a stupid comic book movie. But everybody went full girl power and fucking crazy over the movie, stating the greatness of it all. People talked about it being Gods masterpiece gift to mankind.

There is a thought about music that goes like this -

90% is awful
8% is good
2% is truly outstanding.

In recent years, that has pretty well proven out over and over.

Most of them. This is going to be a long thread. A much shorter list would be good movies.

Sturgeon's Law

Actually it was originally about science fiction, then started to be used for everything.
