 LA Wildcats vs. Houston Roughnecks Week 1 Highlights | XFL 2020 Quick Update for those tuning in. So far: XFL punishes any antics during the Anthem Hot Mics on EVERYBODY Instant sideline interviews with players when they make mistakes (QB throwing pick 6, missed FG's, etc) Hot mic on refs during huddles Hard hits Entertaining Fast paced Good announcers, not annoying pussies Hard hits No extra QB protection Good and unique Kick offs that eliminate touchbacks or kneeling after catching the kick 3 different extra point options, no more PAT kicks. Did I mention Extremely fast paced? Players play hard Low penalty calls Extremely entertaining No gay challenges every 30 seconds Players make $55k a season with a $2K win bonus a week. Hearing the QB and coaches talking during play is pretty damned cool.

I am finding it pretty good. Like the 1, 2 or 3 point pat that goes at different distances.
More football on TV is a good thing I say. |

I like the kick off rules, the points after TD tries are pretty cool as well, and I kind of like the open mics.
the on sideline interviews are pretty weird but I see exactly what the xfl is going for. A good chance for the players to get on mic and make a personality for themselves. I'm sure the xfl will tweak things as they go. Edit: pace of the game is great to. Most of the players have mics in the helmets which helps a ton |

First half started a little slow while the teams shook off some cobwebs but the coaches must have looked at them at half time and said "this is football, you've played this before!" because they came out hot in the second half. I'm not a fan of putting a hot-mic on the coaches during play calling, their lack of enthusiasm doesn't add much for me, but I do enjoy the frequent sideline interviews. Definitely going to attend a Dallas Renegades game. |

This is actually pretty decent football.
I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s not nearly as gimmicky and cartoonish as the first iteration. And, I’m fairly confident that the DC Defenders could beat the Redskins
