To me, the season should always start in Melbourne and end in Brazil. Back when I were a lad it was the other way around! Adelaide at the tail and Brazil at the top. I have a lot of memories of setting alarms in the small hours to catch Japan and then Australia on the BBC. Good times. Modern logistics and the shrinking world means the calendar has less distinct phases than before. It was always the Americas, then Europe, the weird outlier that was Canada, then more Europe, and lastly the East. |
