Back when I were a lad it was the other way around! Adelaide at the tail and Brazil at the top. I have a lot of memories of setting alarms in the small hours to catch Japan and then Australia on the BBC. Good times. Modern logistics and the shrinking world means the calendar has less distinct phases than before. It was always the Americas, then Europe, the weird outlier that was Canada, then more Europe, and lastly the East.

Kind of an illogical connection you’re making there, boss.

Listening to Horner as a source of truth about anything is listening to a man who has decided to live in their own reality distortion bubble and proselytizes it as truth and fact.

“Truthfully, the car is what it is, he is very quick, so what ends up happening is… He has quite a unique driving style, it’s not that easy to get along with.

“Everyone has a driving style, I would say my driving style is a bit more on the smooth side, but I like a car that has a good front-end, so quite sharp, quite direct. Max does too, but his level of sharp and direct is a whole different level – it’s eye-wateringly sharp.
“To give people kind of maybe an explanation of what that might feel like, if you bump up the sensitivity [on a computer game] completely to the max and you move that mouse and it’s just darting across the screen everywhere, that’s kind of how it feels. It becomes so sharp that it makes you a little bit tense.”

“What ended up happening was, especially during my year, you start off being a little bit behind, but not by much, and then as the season goes on, Max wants this front-end in the car, he wants his car to be sharper, sharper,”

“As it goes sharper and sharper, he goes quicker and quicker, and for you to catch up you have to start taking a little bit more risk. You might be a couple of tenths behind one session, just try a little bit more, ‘OK, I’ve gone off, I’ve had a crash’, and you’ve got to restart.

“Then you’ve lost a little bit of confidence, it takes a little bit more time, that gap is growing a little bit, and the next time you try and go out and do another job, [it’s] another spin or another whatever – it just starts to snowball. Every time the car becomes sharper and sharper, you start to become more tense.

I was just adding some more info to the discussion.

Matter of perspective I suppose.

Max gets the setup he likes or Max is able to take advantage of a sharper car, which in most cases is going to be a faster car?

A bit of both really.

I bought it. Maybe Steve Hall will make a livery sticker since Lego certainly won't provide one that says Marlboro. I also picked up the Speed Champions Porsche Hypercar to go with the Porsche LMP1 Speed Champions car I have.

I read that they're supposed to have a big Technic kit like the McLaren car from 2022 but for Mercedes.

Yeah that's a pretty terrible rending managing to put the rear UCA mount where the pushrod should go.  Red bull looking car, but instead of having huge anti-dive we are going to introduce some dive!

I hope I'm wrong, but Lec doesn't seem like he has the mental toughness to fight this kind of fight.

This makes his giant extension an even worse decision. I'd be trying to look for any way out of there.

This is almost costing Ferrari nothing.
Don't forget, Ferrari receives a $70MM stipend (used to be $100MM pre-Liberty acquisition) directly from the FIA each season just for showing.

Kind of wack but it is what it is.

RACE is the best stock I've owned. I wish I owned a LOT more of it. And it was on a tear this week. Of course, that
was due to earnings, F1 doesn't really factor into that very much.

Why wouldn't you pay a proven winner more than a pretty good driver?
Ferrari of old died about 18 years ago. They've been a bumbling mess ever since, but now your feelings are just catching up?

F1 surely plays a factor in its technical valuation.
It took a 5% jump right after the news of F1 signing Hamilton.
Once a company goes public, the stock often trades on news - not fundamentals.
$RACE just like LVMH, Richemont Group, etc are all luxury brands, and their panache and allure, plus legacy plays a factor in their market valuations from a technical trading perspective, and not just the fundamentals of the 10K and 10Q.

You can guarantee his DEI stuff will be internal to the team.

Matteo and Tomasso are looking at a bunch of sensitivity training. We might even be lucky enough to get a documentary about Maranello’s first black employee.
