What a dumbass I thought I lost my mind for a second when they showed him in the gravel, I thought maybe I had just imagined he was on the asphalt when they first cut to him going off. Then I saw the tire tracks and realized he’s an idiot. |

I had to watch this race piecemeal throughout the day between about 4 different events but it was a pretty fun one to watch.
Watching the Alpine boys be so happy was great. Watching Max be excited about winning again was fun and the drive he had was absolutely stunning. |

So where did Stroll get the “window licker” nickname? I’ve seen RPM videos where he’s called an inbred.

Just saw Alonso requested the medical car after the race. Poor bastard. Sounds like the track surface is even worse now.

Not a huge fan, but Max earned every bit of that win today.
It might be mathematically possible still, but dreams of a WDC are officially over for Lando. I wish I could say it was Bottas levels of bad luck, but even after team orders Lando just couldn't do shit at all today. |

kind of silly of the fia to give lando a “reprimand,” they should’ve given him a ten second penalty to save a little face as he had yuki covered by ten seconds anyway.

And with the G-Forces in F1 combined with the shitty track surfaces that are at some tracks, a hard CF seat ... I'm just sayin'. Hamilton isn't far behind. And it always seems to be those two complaining about pain and whatnot. |

I bet that Aston is a bear to drive at this point. It’s obvious they haven’t put any effort into improving this gen car. You don’t hear Stroll complaining because he never makes it far enough to feel it lol

Watched Qualifying on F1TV around 4AM PST, wife made blueberry pancakes and sausage for breakfast and we watched the GP live on ESPN even though it said in the channel guide it was the pre-race. We have DirecTV and DVR, so I just add 3 hours to all the races/qualifying or we watch it on F1TV. The only issue with F1TV is sometimes you get kicked out of whatever you're watching for live, so if you're watching their pre-race show, and the race is starting it kicks you into the live broadcast. Their interface is annoying, and they should partner with one of the better streaming services to license their organization or something. |

If Daddy Stroll wants to keep his son happy, he should just buy in a "sister" team and stick Lance in it. Have Real Drivers on the AM Team.

The Sainz "hello?" radio message is funnier in real time, because there was a longer gap in there than played on the broadcast.

View Quote From Landos point of view, part of it was Max being lucky/Lando unlucky due to the red flag timing. Lando, Russell, and Yuki had bad luck coming in for new tires and then the red flag came out allowing all the others in front of them to change their tires while under red flag and stay in front. Russell was yelling at his Merc team on the radio over this! Personally, coming from the Nascar rules years ago, I think teams shouldn't be able to change anything under red flag. Want to change tires then box under yellow/SC. Other than that bit of luck which can happen to any team, any race, Max definitely had a great drive during a crazy race. |

It was unlucky for RUS it was a bad call from NOR. Lando was begging to come in for half a dozen laps prior to pitting, and doubled down by saying it was the right call after the race. RUS was livid they called him in and correctly speculated on a full SC or Red Flag. OCO, GAS and VER were lucky to keep going on used inters and not make any mistakes before the red flag. They were also lucky to call the strategy perfectly, OCO could have pitted when it went to full SC but they made the decision to leave him out. The only person who had actual bad luck was Yuki, he came in for full wets and was one of the few drivers on the correct tire when race control made the idiotic decision to call a safety car. He got punished for making the correct decision. |

Everything posted above is factual. Maybe.

A pretty wild stat: there are only 2 drivers on the grid who've won a Grand Prix from further back than the 17th place Max started with on Sunday:
Fernando Alonso (last place on laps 13-14) and Sergio Perez (18th to last on laps 1-6). Neither of those were in the wet, making Max's drive even more legendary and the highlight of the season. "He got lucky" could be said about literally every race winner. There's a certain amount of luck with safety cars and such that affect every single race. |

Lapping one second faster than everyone else was only because Max was out front. Oh, and the RB car was better than anyone else’s. And the stewards didn’t penalize him for moving at the start. Plus, even though all of these former world champion drivers thought it was one of the best wet drives in history, Senna didn’t post congrats on Max’s insta. Nope. Max was lucky. |
