NOR almost hit RUS after his off at T4. It is in the race highlights.

Saw this on YT for Lando's race radio video.

Just saw a post of max’s  lap times from lap 44 on - nearly every lap was within 1-2 10ths of the previous. Absolutely insane

Alonso confirmed it. Said the rear brakes went from “off” to “full stop” at times with not much in between. Said something about the brake mapping. Which begs a question about the legality of that because I thought all brake adjustments had to be manually driver controlled but I’m not gonna rat him out.

Maybe I missed it but what was the stewards final ruling on the Merc's and tire pressure changing?

A lot of braking process comes from the battery regeneration, which can be changed via modes. Add the wet conditions, and the teams were playing with a bunch of different “wet” settings.

As an example, right before the SC and red flag when it was dumping and they wanted to stay out (maximum risk), RBR had Max turn battery regeneration off.

The only issue with F1TV is sometimes you get kicked out of whatever you're watching for live, so if you're watching their pre-race show, and the race is starting it kicks you into the live broadcast.  Their interface is annoying, and they should partner with one of the better streaming services to license their organization or something.

I had the error code issue again when trying to watch F1 TV

My PC hooked up to the TV is on Win 7, that may be the issue. But everything has always worked fine until this weekend's quali session.

Worked fine when I switched to a Win 10 laptop

If Lando never wins a Championship he will never live down this season. He has had the fastest car since Miami (round 6) and bottled it.

If he slows down a bit in quali, he might win more races.  Starting in first just isn't working for him.

The top 3 teams have all been quite competitive during the second half of this season. Each one having a turn
showing up at any given track and being the faster car. I have no reason to think that won't continue next year and
possibly with one or two more teams joining in. That's a helluva competitive environment.

I don't believe Lando has the mental toughness to be Champion in that mix. It's as much a mental game as it is
being talented, lucky or whatever.  He just comes across as a bit fragile.

Close competitive championship fights have nearly broken better men than Lando before.

this. Oscar seems to have that "je ne se quois" that Lewis and Max had FROM THE START.

Lando, Charles, George dont seem to have that extra oomph.

Sainz does have it, but he seems to be always the odd man out in good teams....HOW THE HELL DO YOU PUT USED INTERS ON? thats some fuckery there.

I think you are wrong about Charles. I think he’s the only driver on the grid right now that has what it takes to unseat Max.

I'd say Charles definitely had the "it" factor early on, but Ferrari seems to have beaten it out of him

Lol, too true. NOR has 10 career poles (including sprints) and has only converted 2 into wins. He's also given up P1 on the first lap 9 times (7 times this year).
That's not championship material.

Sadly that may be true but I still have hope. Charles was the only driver that put up any kind of defense against Max last Sunday.

Forget the championship I think there is a very real possibility Lando isn’t even the #1 driver at McLaren by this time next year.

Charles' weakness is that he beats himself up. Every time he makes a small mistake, he probably goes back to
Monaco and self-flagellate's. He needs to let certain things roll and stay focused. If he can do that, I think he has what it takes.

That gaslighting, window licking mfkr… 🤬

Cut and paste from an F1 article about lances weird formation lap spin that took him out of the race   😐

“As soon as I touched the brake I just had a huge rear lock and then I was a passenger from there,” the Canadian explained. “I’ve never felt that in the car, so maybe there was a brake failure problem and we have to look into it.”
Reflecting on what could have been – with Stroll known to have performed well in wet conditions previously – he continued: “For sure in a race like this anything’s possible, so to be out on Lap 1 really sucks – but we have to look into what happened.”

The damn brakes didn’t cause you to beach your car you simple minded twit, your decision to go left vs right did.

And for the reporters to not challenge him on that asinine move and chalk it up to brakes is BS too.

Well it looks like we're 75% the way there, and if Stroll's form continues he'll be shamed out of F1 soon enough.

The grid needed a purge after last season; Ricciardo, Sargent, Bottas, Zhou, Perez, and Stroll all need/needed to be replaced by rookies. Too much F2 talent sitting in the garages on Sunday.
