Just saw a post of max’s lap times from lap 44 on - nearly every lap was within 1-2 10ths of the previous. Absolutely insane

A lot of braking process comes from the battery regeneration, which can be changed via modes. Add the wet conditions, and the teams were playing with a bunch of different “wet” settings. As an example, right before the SC and red flag when it was dumping and they wanted to stay out (maximum risk), RBR had Max turn battery regeneration off. |

Cut and paste from an F1 article about lances weird formation lap spin that took him out of the race 😐 “As soon as I touched the brake I just had a huge rear lock and then I was a passenger from there,” the Canadian explained. “I’ve never felt that in the car, so maybe there was a brake failure problem and we have to look into it.” Reflecting on what could have been – with Stroll known to have performed well in wet conditions previously – he continued: “For sure in a race like this anything’s possible, so to be out on Lap 1 really sucks – but we have to look into what happened.” The damn brakes didn’t cause you to beach your car you simple minded twit, your decision to go left vs right did. And for the reporters to not challenge him on that asinine move and chalk it up to brakes is BS too. |
