Refused to have me pay for their meals anytime we went out. In fact I tried to give them my outgoing smartphone. Refused that because of what others around them might think in that they begged me for it. In fact they haven’t asked for a dime since this conflict has started. This was posted earlier, but it needs to be read, over and over again:
Leninthink by Gary Saul Morson The same ideological weapons are being used against American society now, and if we cannot identify what is dangerous about such thinking, then we will have no effective way to combat it. "The same logic applied to rights. On paper, the Soviet Constitution of 1936 guaranteed more rights than any other state in the world. I recall a Soviet citizen telling me that people in the ussr had absolute freedom of speech—so long as they did not lie. I recalled this curious concept of freedom when a student defended complete freedom of speech except for hate speech—and hate speech included anything he disagreed with. Whatever did not seem hateful was actually a “dog-whistle.”" |

Russia has created its own trusted TLS certificate authority (CA) to solve website access problems that have been piling up after sanctions prevent certificate renewals. The sanctions imposed by western companies and governments are preventing Russian sites from renewing existing TLS certificates, causing browsers to block access to sites with expired certificates. TLS certificates help the web browser confirm that a domain belongs to a verified entity and that the exchange of information between the user and the server is encrypted. The UUSR constitution of 1936 was sort of hilarious. Mainly because it was completely ignored. They wrote down a bunch of lovely flowery phrases, ratified it, signed it, sealed it, notarized it, and then went right on doing what the Russian state has always done which is do whatever they feel like doing when it suites them.
