That’s a separatist TCP. Why a separatist is that badly armed is a different question.

A Kremlin official on Thursday dismissed reports that substantial progress had been made in peace talks with Ukraine, saying if there is any headway then "we'll tell you."

When asked about reports that progress had been made in the peace talks, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "On the whole, that's wrong."
"When there's progress, we'll tell you," he added.

According to Bloomberg, Peskov blamed Ukraine for slowing down negotiations, claiming that the country was "in no rush" to reach an agreement.
On Wednesday, the Financial Times reported that significant progress had been made towards reaching an agreement between RUssia and Ukraine, including a potential ceasefire.

Multiple sources informed of the talks told the publication that the supposed plan would include Ukraine renouncing any desires to join NATO and to not ohst any foreign military bases or weapons.

Investigative journalist Gristo Grozev said that Russia's deputy head of the Rosguard, Roman Gavrilov, had been detained in Russia.
Source : Grozev, citing sources on Twitter

Grozyev's direct speech : "Three independent sources report that General Roman Gavrilov, the deputy head of the Rosguard (a unit of Russia's internal troops that suffered huge losses in Ukraine), was detained by the FSB. Gavrilov also previously worked for the FSO, Putin's security service."

Details : According to the journalist, the reason for the detention is currently unknown.

According to one source, Gavrilov was detained by the FSB's military counterintelligence department for "leaking military information, which led to the deaths of people," and two others claim that it was a "waste of fuel."

The lead up to this war is not like WWII it is like WWI.

WWII was simply WWI with a 20 year period of reloading for the second part of the same war.

Britain and France decided WWI was not going to be the end of it at Versailles and assured the war was not over (Hence our screw you Europe you got what you deserved with the Nazis)

My personal concern is what will trigger the next domino and will that set off a chain reaction that, like in 1914, everyone wished could be stopped but it takes on a life of its own and we have to ride out a larger war.

The fact there are nukes involved well, that might be what keeps this from spreading because if it spreads the possibilities are beyond apocalyptic

Yeah, unless they have laser guided rockets (unlikely), I would bet the Russian helo guys are tired of getting shot down by getting up close and personal; so they are lofting the rockets as an area effect weapon to be able to stay out of / mitigate the threat of getting up close to the UKRs.  The flares on the climb and exit seem to point to their worry about the manpad threat which has likely taken out a good number of the comrades.

The president of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, has begun to look for extremes due to a failed military campaign in Ukraine. The first to suffer was the FSB's foreign intelligence unit, which arrested its head, Serhiy Beseda, and his deputy, Bolukh (name not given).

Source : Medusa with reference to journalists Andriy Soldatov and Irina Borogan

Details : It is noted that Beseda and Bolukh were responsible for intelligence in Ukraine, and it is likely that they misled Putin about Ukraine's readiness to "welcome the liberators." Bolukh was additionally responsible for the direction of misinformation.

The 5th Service (official name - Operational Information and International Relations Service) deals with the FSB's relations with foreign partners, including US agencies. Within the service, there is the infamous Department of Operational Information (DPI), which performs the functions of the FSB's foreign intelligence.

Literally : "It was the 5th Service that was responsible for providing Vladimir Putin with information about political events in Ukraine on the eve of the invasion. And it seems that after two weeks of war , Putin finally came to be misled: , simply provided him with the data he himself wanted to hear.
At present, our sources report that General Beseda and his deputy have been placed under house arrest . Among the reasons are the misuse of funds allocated for operations, as well as poor intelligence. And in fact: the intelligence of Putin's staff spy, as it turned out, is arranged very poorly. "
Putin began repression against FSB leaders for failure in Ukraine

BRING IT ASSHOLE!

Russia on Thursday warned that it has the might to put the United States, US, in its place.

Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Secretary of Russia's Security Council, accused the West of stoking a wild Russophobic plot to tear Russia apart, NAN reports.
Medvedev said the US had stoked "disgusting" Russophobia in an attempt to force Russia to its knees.

"It will not work, Russia has the might to put all of our brash enemies in their place," Medvedev said.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, the US and its European and Asian allies have slapped sanctions on Russian leaders, companies and businessmen, cutting off Russia from much of the world economy.

President Vladimir Putin says that what he calls the special military operation in Ukraine was necessary because the United States was using Ukraine to threaten Russia and it had to defend against the "genocide" of Russian-speaking people by Ukraine.

Ukraine says it was fighting for its existence and that Putin's claims of genocide are nonsense. The West also said claims that it wants to rip Russia apart are baseless.

Russia added that in spite of sanctions, it can fare well without what it casts as a deceitful and decadent West led by the United States.

I know nothing about drones or drone software.  How can Russia find the location of an operator?  Basic radio location finding?

According to the best available statistics around 730 civilians have been CONFIRMED killed… God knows how many more, along with 1300 soldiers. So that’s North of 2,000 dead Ukrainians and likely more. So yeah, nowhere near as close in real or adjusted numbers.

It's likely the Russian forces are utterly incompetent because the only possible motivation to do a good job is maybe a slightly better chance to not get shot by a Chekist, and there is no reward for being exceptionally good.

Daily Beast contributing editor Craig Copetas says he's been told that Putin has people tasting his food before he eats it and that last month, he replaced his entire personal staff of 1,000 people.Vladimir Putin appeared on Russian state TV today to denounce Russians who opposed his war with Ukraine as "scum" and "traitors."

But behind the scenes, the dictator is increasingly paranoid and fears that someone in his inner circle will poison him, a new report says.
Daily Beast contributing editor Craig Copetas says he's been told that Putin has people tasting his food before he eats it and that last month, he replaced his entire personal staff of 1,000 people.

"Laundresses, secretaries, cooks  to a whole new group of people. The assessment from the intelligence community is that he's scared," Copetas said.
Copetas says that the preferred method of assassination in Russia is poison.

DJI sells either a software or a device that geolocates the drone and more importantly the drone operator. The allegation is China disabled Ukraines ability to use the location feature but allows it for Russia.
