A Good Question nobody seems to be asking: Just How Much Wheat Can American Farmers Grow
View Quote

The US is still a top exporter. They don't want to grow too much, because it doesn't pay, economically.

And it's irrelevant to the current situation with wheat. The next wheat harvest was planted roughly six months ago in the northern hemisphere. Every country that gets most of its wheat from Ukraine is going to be in really big trouble in 12-18 months when that next harvest has come up short in some places (Ukraine), and faces export restrictions in other places (Russia has already announced this).

That video didn't look like it was even supersonic much less hypersonic, particularly at a low altitude like that.

Are we done now?

I agree with the feeling, but unfortunately Putin & his cronies don't care about the poor SOBs that Ukraine is holding and wouldn't give a damn if they were treated the way Russians treat people. The better play is still to send POWs to nice (but secure) destinations and advertise how well POWs get treated. Some number of Russian grunts would surely evaluate where their better fortune lies.

I understand what you're saying, but these "poor SOBs" are the same ones intentionally killing civilians to take ground and break Ukrainian morale.  Kill them now so they don't get the chance when they move on the next country.  No need to make a public spectacle of it, but don't let these guys get back in circulation.  If the Russians win, it needs to hurt.

Back in the late 80s and 90s, sometimes we'd boat over to the Stockton port as a break from waterskiing.  Seeing a Soviet freighter loading up on grain was a common sight.  Now, I cannot remember when the last time I saw one.

I am sure that if they're shipping Ukrainian civilians to labor camps, it'll be confirmed soon enough. I'm not calling that girl a liar, but that's the kind of allegation that really needs to be verified, because it's particularly damning.

Yeah. Because Western Europe (and the US) was in such a hurry to stop the last Holocaust.
The only reason they stopped to liberate the camps, was because they were on the way to Berlin.

Different circumstances that are going on almost 100 years old. One thing American children hear early and often is how awful the Holocaust was, and how it can never be allowed to happen again. Of course, it already is, but nobody gives a shit if China's doing it so long as they get their cheap goods. If you get fox and CNN airing constant footage of Ukrainian grandmas being shoehorned into cattle cars though, I guarantee you that more Americans will support military intervention.

I honestly don't know what it would take. But make them stop the train every 5 miles. Make them try to put the giant train back on the track every 10 miles. Sheer determination can accomplish a lot. Use a cutter to get through the tracks in 2 places 20 ft apart. Use a shovel to remove a whole bunch of dirt from under the tracks but leave it looking normal. It obviously sounds primitive and wyle-e-coyote. But I'll bet it would cause a derailment. How long does it take to fix a train derailment? How fast can they move after it happens once?
