I always liked it because it has some some collateral capabilities. It produces phosphoric acid which can be lethal to people in enclosed spaces, which makes it good for shooting onto troops with overhead cover. Those who it burns don’t need to burned by much to be taken out of action for either extended periods of time or permanently since it interferes with the ability to use potassium and as little as 20 percent burns can be fatal. |

US a/c sense 'flashes' and will deploy them thinking the flash was a MANPADS launch, but they are very unreliable. The sun reflecting off water can set them off. It is usually SOP to assume you are getting targeted by IR ADA systems over enemy controlled areas and pop them off. Like those two Russian helos that popped off dozens off them but still got shot down a few weeks ago. |

Poland’s treaty with Britain and France didn’t do shit for them in 1939. I don’t think you’re wrong per se. But I think the situation comes to a head sooner than later. Meaning this year, not in 1, 2, or 5 years. Based on what I’ve read and seen, there is no way Russia is going to win conventionally in Ukraine. Forget a 10-year guerrilla war, Ukraine is going to beat them straight up and will grind the Russian army to hamburger doing it. Putin will push on to the brink of collapse and his only option to “win” is to go nuclear. Russia may be trying a “stealth mobilization” right now. They can either throw those new troops into Ukraine, or use them on the Baltics or Poland. However, again, a fresh draft of Russian troops (poorly equipped) would not be remotely enough to tackle Poland without first use of nukes against them. NATO is also forward-deploying troops in Poland and the Baltics, so any attack by Russia is going to hit NATO. That makes response de facto. The questions are: 1) what are Russian elites willing and able to do to stop Putin, and when. 2)What are the Western nuclear powers willing to do to prevent first nuclear use by Russia if they believe it’s imminent? |

When they or the Russian aircraft gain altitude and in an area where they release weapons, they pop flares. They dont have many systems to tell them an IR guided missile is after them. Their radar warning systems can usually give them a heads up a radar guided missile is after them. |
