Maybe we could find some F-104s in storage and give them to Germany until they run out of live pilots.

What are they going to do, send the guns to Ukraine? Like Ukraine needs a bunch of Hi-Points and Jimenez pistols.

If I see a video of a Russian officer getting capped with one of these, I will officially eat my own head.

If Ukraine is lucky, Miami will send the guns to Russia.

The Mayor said that they will "take guns off the street and give them to people [Ukrainians] who really need them" - typical liberal low IQ thinking since only low IQ cityots will turn them in when they need them for Miami's high crime areas.

Anyway, if I were fighting in Ukraine and was only given an AK-74, I would welcome a Hi-Point for a side arm. They work and it's better than hand to hand if your rifle is out of commission.

Yes that gap looks super weird, almost like it would channel a shell directly into the seam between turret and hull? But I imagine Rheinmetall knows a but more about tank design than I do.

My thoughts when the war first started are showing legitimacy: Why didnt NATO design and employ Russkie missiles on NATO planes?  Granted its showing with the artillery round issue Ukraine has but still. Do any NATO countries from the former com bloc have the plans and tooling to produce 152mm rounds?

SBU initiates seizure of assets of Belarusian fuel company involved in financing Russian aggression

Among the seized assets are corporate rights and bank accounts with a total value of almost UAH 20 million.

According to the Security Service, this network specializes in wholesale of various fuels. Over the past year, it has exported goods worth almost UAH 20 billion to Ukraine. The company had Belarusian state-owned enterprises among its founders, purchased raw materials from Russia and paid taxes to the budgets of both countries.

In view of this, the network is directly related to the financing of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

All seized assets were transferred to the National Agency for Detection, Investigation and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).

Detection and documentation of criminal activity was carried out by SBU officers within the framework of criminal proceedings under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪️ Part 2 of Art. 110-2 (financing of actions committed for the purpose of forcible change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of borders of the territory or state border of Ukraine);
▪️ Part 5 of Art. 191 (appropriation, misappropriation of property or taking it by abuse of office, committed under martial law or state).

Procedural guidance in the case is provided by the Podolsk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv.

For a good reason. They crashed 292 out of the 916 F-104s they had with 115 pilots killed.

I think that is one of, if not the best, bad ass badge of WWII. iirc you had to destroy 5 enemy tanks through infantry tactics...climb on and drop a grenade to maybe some sticky bomb/Panzerfaust type heart stopping action. I've seen pictures of dudes on the E. Front with an arm full of those awards.

My nitz get shriveled just thinking about hiding in a trench waiting for Russian tanks to get close enough or pass over me then try to climb on it.

Thanks for posting, we used to get these every day before, and they have always eventually proved to be true later on with events on the ground.   The ISW assessment said there were fights between different units that had actually fired on each other in the past few weeks, so there's serious morale issues and infighting among the Russian forces.   Plus the mention of seriously undermanned BTG's as well.

So is himars a weapon that will get deployed at night?  It's essentially a airforce precision weapon.  Reading the warzone article they don't do volley fire with it but more of precision strikes.

Day time strikes would have the Russian military put everything on them trying to take those four out.  Yeah their artillery can't touch it but leaving these out in a field could get a kalibr dropped on it.

More info on the system:

Initial Operational Capability (IOC): June 2018

The Silok-01 is an electronic warfare (EW) system designed to counter a wide range of unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) by jamming the communications with their control station. The system has been designed to automatically detect UAVs, determine their position and block their communications, guidance and navigation systems forcing them to land. The Silok radio-frequency jamming system has been optimized against low altitude drones. The Silok-01 system was deployed by Russia in the summer 2018 to protect the World Cup and thereafter was deployed in Syria. In November 2018 the system was already deployed and demonstrated near Leningrad.

Well, it took 4 days but I read all of this..

Sheesh.

A couple of questions for the hive.

1.  I read that Russia is suffering a microchip shortage.  I assume the get them from China anyway, so is this any different than the shortage everyone is facing, or something totally different?

2.  I assume most drones have IR cameras, ergo making cover much harder (ie simple trees just are not enough).  Is that a bad assumption?

Probably most drones in use there are day camera only. The larger systems and US provided systems might be thermal.
