Moar

The defense industrial base, while underfed, poorly led, sadly managed, should consider this a light fucking warm-up before shit kicks-off in the INDOPACOM AOR. I hope that the COCOMs and the joint chiefs are paying attention, pounding the table, and doing the work.

Interesting that Afghanistan voted with us.
Does the Taliban control their vote now or is it a gov in exile?

Also interesting that Cuba abstained. Russia's influence is as weak as I've ever seen it.

They run barter town for sure, but the UN is slow-rolling their recognition for two yrs and hence appointment of new rep. Current rep is a hold-over.

Kind of expected, I bet If a bunch of US privates were stuck in fox holes eating MREs and getting hammered with artillery there phone calls would be pretty much the same kind of bitching.

Just as an academic exercise-

Russians are claiming an SBU agent was planning to do something nefarious with an IGLA.

Watch the whole thing, in unusually high Russian resolution and filmed from EVERY POSSIBLE ANGLE, right here.

It's going to be a bit of time and testing, even for us to get good numbers of them.

Cuba is trying to get the US to send help to put their electrical grid back together after the hurricane.

But surely Russia has some manpower and equipment to spare.

I hate the chess analogy.  War like this is a classic game of Go. Ukraine is looking to take territory not kill or capture the king.

I was speaking in terms of the general bitching, Thankfully I never experienced combat but I spent many nights as a low ranking enlisted grunt, cold, wet, hungry with no idea of what the hell we were doing or what leadership was thinking. If I would have had a cellphone I know my phone calls would have been full of epic bitching.

Maybe @R0N could spitball about where this is at in the long process of fielding. Does that report mean that Lockheed has won a contract for the army to procure them or is developing them under their own funding to prepare a bid for an army procurement?

Disclaimer: I’m in the TRL 0 world so this process is all stuff I usually glass over trying to wrap my head around when it comes up…

The fact that that US is typically the beneficiary of others’ brain drains is one of our most underappreciated advantages.

To your second observation, an aging workforce in specialized or technical fields is usually a bad sign of things to come.

The problem is this: at what point does escalating to de-escalate become indistinguishable from suicidal? At what point does being a strong bully outweigh sanity? At what point does Putin become so trapped by his own failures and his own rhetoric that suicide becomes what appears to them the best choice?

HIRM-2 was, allegedly, like 6 months from IOC back in Feb ‘22. 500 kg warhead. ATACMs is like half that in terms of warhead size. I’m still leaning on the SVBIED method given the size of the damage. One day the truth will come out.

Looks like Chuck is all-in on the missile theory.

There was speculation that the reason the Russians are pushing the VBIED theory so hard is that the bridge was protected by S-400.  I don't know if that's true.  S-400 systems are still fairly rare, but the bridge is a national priority for Russia so it's plausible that they had an S-400 in the area.

That would be embarrassing
