Zelensky did not ask for US boots on the ground, and Ukraine will not need US boots on the ground in another year to survive.  They will however need continued American/NATO supply to survive.
Given the increasing levels of supply, including more capable systems, the pressure on Russia will keep increasing while Russian ability to damage Ukraine will keep decreasing.
Of course Putin doesn’t give a shit.  He will throw men at Ukraine until he can’t.  The Russian Army will take massive casualties until they can’t.  If the best Russia can do is take Bakhmut after a 6-month campaign, they’ll only have to use up 2-3 million to get to the Dnepr.

That's diplomatic speak for public consumption.  He's very likely more direct through closed door channels. He's very likely already asked for American advisors on the ground in Ukraine.

He is right, but timing wrong.  They're going to need boots by next year if this invasion keeps up. I'm fine with USA pilots now long side NATO pilots, and Germany boots later.

But yes, it seems we agree this is the new age of communism expansion.  If this doesn't get nipped in the bud now, it's going to get out of hand later.  Russia had rolled through invading eastern European countries after WW2.  Western Europe did nothing back then, but they were still recovering from WW2.  They don't have that excuse now.

The problem I have with Zelensky's speech is that he should have said if western Europe didn't support Ukraine now, it would have no choice but to help fight a land war in their region later. He should not have gone straight to the USA, bypassing NATO countries that are *there*.

The reason why I eschew Germany so much is that they have the 4th largest GDP in the world, and the largest in the EU by far. In that regard, they do very little to carry their weight, defensively.  I view them as the worst kind of titsuckers in NATO.

I’m sorry but repeating something you want to be the truth does not make it the truth.

Plus Zelensky behind closed doors would not even ask even for advisors, Its no secret that there is no way Americans will be involved even in an advisory roll on the front lines. and he knows that.  He in no way has asked for Americans to physically take part in this war. He does know that if the Russians are not stopped now then we will be fighting them on NATO soil sooner or later.

The book is called ZOV 56 by Pavel Filatyev.  It's pretty short (141 pages) and numerous newspapers have hit the highlights on it.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Filatyev

For what it's worth, despite confessing to war crimes and discussing the failures in the Russian army, the author is, uh, not repentant.  He did, however, have to flee Russia for writing that.

Can a person in the USA legally mail/ship a DJI drone to Ukraine?
Or are their some sort of sanctions.

#Bakhmut!
➠ In the south of Bakhmut, fighting in Michurynets horticulture and east of the Mariupol cemetery. The enemy moved the main attacks to a defense breakthrough near the Kvadraty area, trying to break through and establish control over the section of the Bakhmut-Ivanivske highway.

➠ The situation continues to worsen in Zabakhmutka and the area of the Meat Factory.

➠ To the north of Bakhmut, the Wagnerians, scattered in forest strips and plantations, with the onset of darkness, concentrated the main attack on Khromovo, through which the Chasiv Yar-Bakhmut route passes. The Armed Forces periodically counterattack in this direction.

Today is short.
Hard. Very difficult.
The situation is extremely difficult.

The enemy continues to move north of the city, which poses a threat to our entire garrison.

In Zabakhmutka, the squeezing of our units continues, unfortunately.

In other places, the occupiers also climb, but receive a strong rebuff.

Our periodic counterattacks slightly improve the tactical situation, but this does not solve the problem of the invaders breaking through from the north.

The attacks on Khromovo and Bohdanivka intensified as much as possible.

It is very difficult for our soldiers. Therefore, their support right now is our main duty.

The enemy is concentrating forces to advance on Bohdanivka. The vanguard of the enemy is trying to infiltrate to Orichovo-Vasylivka. Battles are going on in Zabakhmutivka. There are battles in the north and south of the city. No one left Bakhmut, did not surrender. Despite the gravity of the situation, our soldiers continue to restrain the enemy and take the fight to the overwhelming forces of the enemy.

➠ North of Bakhmut, massed infantry attacks on Khromovo and Bondanivka with the support of aviation, barrel and jet artillery. At 00:30, the advance of the enemy was recorded.

# In short_about_MTLB
Almost a ship!

On the MT-LB we see the ship's anti-aircraft automatic installation 2M-3M. Instead of two regular 25-mm M-110 assault rifles, KPVT machine guns were installed on the repair base.

25-mm twin 2M-3M can be found in many museum complexes, for example, in Patriot Park in Alabino.

Only a third of the tanks are combat-ready... The military lobby of the Federal Republic of Germany "gives hell" to Scholz. Merkel also got it

The majority of Ukrainians sincerely believed that Scholz was scared, and that is why he did not share weapons with Ukraine. In reality, things are much worse: he looks helpless as the supreme commander.

-The Bundeswehr is in an even worse condition than a year ago. His ammunition would last only a few days of a real war. Last year, the government allocated €100 billion to replenish military arsenals, but since then not a cent has been spent, - writes the FT based on conversations with the German military.

-Out of approximately 300 Bundeswehr Leopard tanks, only 30% are in combat readiness. During the year, the government did not order a single self-propelled howitzer (although it transferred some to Ukraine), not to mention sets of spare parts for them. A lot of howitzers have been decommissioned, Bild am Sonntag quoted the head of the Bundeswehr Union, Andre Wüstner, as saying.

-In December, the military community discussed the scandal with the newest and most expensive Puma BMP (€17 million per "piece"). During the exercises, all 18 infantry fighting vehicles failed. And mind you, they were not controlled by drills... "Bekhs" of older modifications are mostly stuck.

-The situation in Bundeswehr is so bad that the military is leaking information to the media, and political opponents are liberally criticizing Scholz. And for his helpless indecisiveness, and for keeping Christine Labrecht, a useless minister of defense, until recently.

Literally today, Scholz's girlfriend and predecessor, Angela Merkel, also flew in. "Ukrainians did not join NATO, and it was a big mistake of the French and Angela Merkel. At the 2008 summit, NATO countries promised Ukraine a quick accession. The project failed because Merkel and then French President Nicolas Sarkozy opposed it out of respect for Russia," said Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, head of the Bundestag's defense committee, clarifying that the mistakes must be corrected.

The essence of this story is simple: under the pressure of Uncle Sam, the Germans will somehow try to help us. But everything is so messed up with them that God let them deal with themselves. In any case, Germany is in for a major policy overhaul. In addition, in Germany, Merkel is more and more often referred to as a bunker-buster. There is justice!!!

Subscribe to "Orestocracy", let's unravel the darkness of history together.

Russia just returned 17 bodies. These four must’ve been among them.

March 7 at Baikovo cemetery
- the funeral of the fighters of the Brotherhood subversive group who died in Bryansk region on Christmas Day - Nepyypiv, Svyatoshi, Tarasiya and Apollon will be held.

Memorial service - at 11:00 a.m. in the Dormition Cathedral of the Lavra (in advance, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Culture)

Farewell - at 13.00 on Maidan Nezalezhnosti.

It is worth putting aside all matters, come to pray for their souls in the cathedral and pay tribute to the memory of the Heroes.

Honor ⚔️

Predator gives his narrative of “the day”.
Stripped out all the emojis that’ll blow way up except for one, because it helps with translation.

Guys now I will try to explain in more detail what happened that day.
The day was as ordinary as possible, nothing foreshadowed that anything could happen, my partner and I took up the post, defended for an hour and a half, there was literally half an hour to change and go to rest, but we heard the hum of the BMP-2, thinking what it was - something far away, I personally decided to prepare anti-tank weapons, after literally 10 seconds they came to us on the radio and tried to warn that the same BMP-2 was moving in our direction, we didn’t really understand what they told us on the radio since the Russians used the funds to jamming the connection, when they repeated the message on the radio to us that the equipment was moving towards us, it was already 5 meters away and what you all saw on the video began!!

In the end, we repelled the attack, those who could survive ran away, and everyone else is still lying🫡
Everything is fine with my partner, at that moment he was shell-shocked, but still he was able to help me, he gave everything that I said, listened and followed my orders, for which many thanks to him

At the moment I'm on vacation, but it can not be called a vacation)
I go and collect my equipment, collect body kits for a machine gun, and so on, slowly it turns out, but it’s not always what you really need, every second store tries to sell some low-quality fake, in a word, just to sell
I plan to buy a lot more, basically I'm waiting for it to be in stock))
Personally, I’ll say that we can’t be defeated, we can’t be broken!!
Also for people who asked many times, I made Mono Bank

Thank you all so much for your help, for your support, for being there

It seems to me they are managing a slow withdrawal pretty well. A Russian "breakthrough" seems to mean a 100-yard gain or so and that can be managed. Also, I'm thinking that scary-looking pocket isn't very full of Ukrainians.

That said, I agree there's risk with limited reward in trying to hold a pile of rubble on Sunday that you're going to leave on Tuesday anyway.

I had forgotten "di di mau."

They're in a precarious situation. They don't want to bite the hand that feeds, but Rhinemetal is definitely trying to cash in thinking there's some kind of expected reciprocity after literally tens of old Leopards are finally being offered after a year. I'm sure they're aware of the unreliability of ze german government.

Poland begged and pleaded to setup Leopard production and in the end they gave up and went with a combination of Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 + K2PL. Which is a good model for the UA to follow in my opinion. Plus the Panther was a technology demonstrator, like Abrams-X, so it's got to be years from production. I'd love to see the diesel from the Abrams-X dropped into a SEPv3/4, as I think it would silence all the complaints about turbine complexity and fuel consumption. in the end, none of this helps Ukraine in the short/medium term.

In the context of the current war, yes, it's not going to happen right now.   But you should know there are a lot of negotiations like this from other defense contractors from other countries counting on Ukraine winning this war and building up their industry by making contracts to build on Ukrainian soil for after the war.

You need to be more specific: actual Russian Army, VDV/Spetznaz/Naval Infantry, LPR/DPR, Wagner contractors, Wagner prisoners, Mobiks
Russia is a case of the haves and the have nots. You have small groups that are well equipped(optics, NODs, thermals, encrypted comms), the majority are a rag-tag bunch of miss-matched stuff they scrounged up from wherever, and then the pure fodder that we've seen with steel helmets and Mosins.

As a generalization, most infantry have 'body armor.' Now the efficacy of that body armor is up for much debate. We've seen everything from plywood plates to chunks of steel plate (w/o spal liner) to essentially modern chain mail that was designed for stab protection to level 4 ceramics. And it's from around the globe. Some Chinese, some Iranian, some russian, some western. I have yet to see a picture from actual RA frontline units that even have matching uniforms, so again it's really hard to generalize.

Why are you being so obtuse?

"Russia is now probably losing more soldiers per day than North Korea and Vietnam combined in the Korean and Vietnam wars."

440 + 337 = 777

795 > 777

Yes you can.  There is tons of requests daily on Twitter for specific units wanting more drones.

I would recommend these guys personally.

https://www.cined.com/send-your-used-drones-to-ukraine-polish-drone-maker-spartaqs-helps/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

To help the people of Ukraine in the ongoing armed conflict, Polish drone manufacturer Spartaqs has initiated a campaign to collect, service and deliver used recreational drones to neighboring Ukraine. And your unused drone could be a part of this project!

Drones for Ukraine
Spartaqs collects private drones of all brands, DJI being probably the most prominent, and services them to ensure that only fully functional equipment is sent to Ukraine.

The company will replace worn batteries and modify the drones for relatively safe use in a conflict zone: All lights will be completely disabled. In addition, no internet connection will be required, and the drones in question will not ask for updates prior to take-off. Some drones will also be converted, for example with infrared camera systems, to be used as night vision devices.

I've said it repeatedly in this thread: Germany is the enemy of the US. Pretty much everything going on right now can directly be places at their blame. Dependence on Russian energy. Greenie cocksuckers and the whole movement.  Sucking on NATO'S tit while other poor nations and the US do the heavy lifting. WW1. WW2. I fucking hate Germany.  Instead of invading Iraq a 2nd time we should have invaded Germany and executed Merkel and all of her followers publicly.  Without German influence and policy, Russia never would have tried this invasion.  Fuck Germany.

Russia Is Getting Around Sanctions to Secure Supply of Key Chips for War
“Russia looks to be successfully working around European Union and Group of Seven sanctions to secure crucial semiconductors and other technologies for its war in Ukraine”

I’ve also read in the last week that almost all OPEC nations are feeding Russia the critical materials it needs to continue to build their weapons.  With more of this coming to light I wonder how we will respond? If China starts sending lethal aid we can’t sanction all these countries and have a functioning economy.

In the Kharkiv region, border guards landed a drone belonging to the occupiers, which was scouting the positions of Ukrainian defenders

The occupier-drone operator filmed himself and the location of the launch of the drone on the video camera. From the received footage, the border guards calculated the location of the enemy's positions

Are the rooshians preventing civilians from leaving conflict areas?   I would think that anyone that would flee west, or that the Ukranian GOV or NGO would want to extract would be pro Ukranian which would likely be a benefit to roosia if they vacated the area, especially the disputed regions.

I believe Girkin is correct, Ukrainian forces in the area already stated weeks ago that any day past March 1st that Ukraine has Bakhmut is a bonus from their origional planning.

A few of the videos I saw of the International Legion looked a lot more familiar tactics of coordinated movement, covering angles, aimed fire of much less volume.

My concern is that Ukraine will not win fighting Russia with Russian tactics. They have to get trained up and equipped to get out of the trenches and maneuver and use precision fire not just at the artillery level but at every level. Sure there is always an element of suppression but that should be used to maneuver and allow more precision. Just hate to see spray and pray grinding attrition.

I’m sure the videos are a tiny portion of what actually happens. Just going off what I have seen so far.

I see some aiming and some "tossing" towards the enemy. I think much of the fire is aimed but only generally since very few targets are visible. Basically "I'm still here, stay away, dont try and charge at me" type suppression fire. Still much better than the typical Iraqi/Syrian mag dump from rifle held over the head.

...like me at a 2-gun match after 3 expressos...
