With the donations of Mig 29's from Poland and the the other countries and the 9 MI-8's from Croatia, Does anyone actually know the numbers that the Ukrainian Airforce can now field in the different models of planes and Helos. Almost seems like they have more now than when this started.

So even though Russia greatly out numbers Ukraine in jets, it is still afraid to get close to the front line and certainly does not enjoy air superiority. Pretty amazing. And this is with Russian Su jets having larger and more advanced radars. Ukraine really needs something more like the F18 for longer range A2A but the F26 would still be a huge improvement with western missiles and AWAC support. |

Perfect. Russian lines collapse around Bakhmut. Russia has to bring in their reserves to stabilize the situation. Counteroffensive kicks off and exploits the weakened areas.

Can you imagine how demoralizing it would be if Ukraine can encircle Bakhmut after the Russians spent months and lost 50k troops to almost take it? Especially if Wagner is wiped out or captured.

 Ukraine War Updates Part 3: What’s Next for Russia || Peter Zeihan Somebody already posted this video but I can’t find the post so here it is again. His conclusion is bold for polite social media. I don’t know how it will end but I agree the end will bring radically different security and trade order to Europe and Russia.  When a country views a conflict as existential, putting a timeline on it is nearly impossible. So no matter how well (or bad) this Ukrainian counter-offensive plays out, we are only at the beginning of a long, drawn-out war. For the Russians, war doesn’t stop in Ukraine; it stops once they have captured enough land or territory deemed critical to their survival. So we’re no longer talking about Kyiv or Crimea…we're talking about Russia moving west and trying to occupy former strategic positions the Soviets held, like Warsaw. So what does that mean for the Ukrainians? If they are going to stop the Russians from waging war again, not only do they need to take back all of their lands…they need to take the fight to the Russians. No matter how the Ukraine War plays out, we are looking at an extreme breakdown of the security order. Either Russia emerges victorious, and a confrontation with NATO is in the cards - OR - Ukraine comes out on top and sends the Russian State down a path of disintegration. |

Anyone have background on this beast and why the VDV would be using it?
