NASAMS being pushed forward if we believe the report. The Ukrainians probably won't give a straight answer, for quite legitimate reasons. You can almost hear the chaos this is wreaking on Russian defensive planning. It is a good thing that the Russians have proven themselves masters of tactical improvisation, logistical mastery, and operational flexibility in this war, because otherwise, this would be really bad news for the Orcs. Don't worry though, I'm sure that partial airspace denial will not affect their defensive posture in the least! |

Lol what a huge day for Ukraine and the history of the air battle of this war The Ukrainian military said weeks ago we would know if Patriot was in theater. I am savoring the confusion right now.
It was previously known about the fall of two Mi-8 helicopters without ammunition, the crew died; 🔹It is also reported about the fall of two Su-34 and Su-35 fighters, the pilot and navigator of the Su-34 died, there is no data on the crew of the Su-35; 🔹 As a result of the fall of one Mi-8, a 51-year-old woman was injured - fragments of the blades fell into the courtyard of a private house; 🔹Regional and z-publics put forward three main versions of the crash: - Helicopters and fighter jets were shot down by Ukrainian aircraft with Western medium-range missiles, for example, the American AIM-120, from the territory of the Chernihiv region; - they were shot down by the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the help of American Patriot complexes; - they were shot down by "Ukrainian saboteurs" from MANPADS; - fighters and helicopters came under "friendly fire" of the Russian air defense; - Technical problems were the cause of the accident. 🔹 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not yet commented on the information about the number of downed vehicles and the condition of the pilots; 🔹The "Interception" plan has been introduced on the territory of the Klintsovsky district of the Bryansk region. |

Reports are saying both chopper crews completely killed, SU-34 Fullback full crew killed, and “no word” on the SU-35 crew.
These sound like the bigger AIM-120 hitting them unlike smaller manpad missiles giving them time to bail before aircraft breakup. Hopefully we hear of the SU-35 crews demise as well. The experienced crews are more valuable than the actual airframes. |

4 Air Russian air assets lost ... awesome sauce ...
I mean ... it just shows truly how ineffective Russia is ... they can't even defend their own airspace Their sole effectiveness early in the war was the large numbers thrown at the conflict ... |

It’s not as big an explosion as I’d believe a Patriot missile would be but looked bigger than any of the Stinger/Igla hits I’ve seen. It would be fun to think a Mig or SU27 shot it down but I am thinking they pushed a NASAMS super close and hit it with a AIM-120 from the ground. |
