Got it. Republicans put Ukraine aid in it to torpedo it in their party, and they put border aid in it to torpedo it in the Dem party. But spending on HHS, HUD, Justice runs like explosive diarrhea.

That is all so messed up. Biden doesn’t even want to support Ukraine. The Republicans are stupid enough to think Ukraine is anything important to Biden?!  FFS we have idiots across the board. They couldn’t play checkers to get out of a paper bag…or something like that.

The bill doesn’t pass, Biden shrugs his shoulders, calls Vlad to tell him the slow walk obstruction is still on track, then calls MSNBC to blame to Republicans for letting Ukraine children get bombed by mean ole Rooskies. Win, win.

The emergency landing was due to a failure of the hydraulic system, according to the CEO of Ural Airlines.

The passengers of the plane that landed in the field near Novosibirsk received financial compensation 100,000 rubles for being scared.

The investigation revealed 15 errors and contradictions.

Today Ural Airlines plane will be dismantled for “parts and scrapped” according to Izvestia.

There are breakdowns, emergency landings, and rollouts beyond the runways almost every day.

New evidence suggests that Russia’s civil aviation sector is on the verge of collapse.
According to reports from the country’s aviation authority, flights of Russian aircraft are getting dangerous due to a scarcity of spare parts and maintenance due to sanctions.

Russian airlines and aviation authorities are solely responsible for putting planes in the sky and Russians’ lives at risk. They continue to claim that everything is fine.

If a fatal crash of a Boeing or Airbus flown by a Russian airline kills hundreds, Putin will blame the West as he does for everything else.

The argument isn't for immigration reform. It's to secure the border.

Think of all the people you see saying "no money for Ukraine UNTIL the border is secure", we should be trying to get them onboard by securing the border.

Telling them to shut up is just going to make them be against Ukraine. Same phenomena as immigration and the AfD in Germany.

I’m not implying border/immigration is not important. But it is not going to be agreed to easily or quickly. Ukraine aid is needed right away. It is asinine to tie a long term political lightning rod issue to an issue that should be a no brainer for both sides and needs immediate action.

Perfect formula to torpedo Ukraine aid without explicitly voting against it. And as I mentioned it is stupid of Republicans to think Ukraine aid is desperately wanted by the Dems. The Dems will gladly let the Repubs take the blame for the failure of the border AND no Ukraine aid.

I can see the Repub campaign ads:
“Herr derr we tied border security to Ukraine aid and it failed and we have nothing to show for but we sure showed them Dems!”

Exactly. Dems are lukewarm on Ukraine. There are no pounding the table speeches for winning. Ukraine aid does nothing to draw support from the Dems for securing the border.

Dems are happy to let the Repubs pour gas on themselves and light the match.

Yep.  I happen to think the relatively tepid response from dems is because they are simply paying out all the rope the republicans need to hang themselves.  Then, after months of the republicans looking like the unhinged morons they’ve become, they clean up in the election and do what they want.
It’s risk-free for them.  They don’t actually have to take a position on anything.

To be fair Democrats are sour on aid for Israel too and seem to only pay lip service to Taiwan. For years they had Free Tibet bumper stickers but never did shit to antagonize China over human rights inside China, only on USA college campuses and even that’s disappeared

Most of them were previously knocked out, which seemed obvious from the video.  The two or three actually taking hits appear to be new kills.  Of those only one or two may be tank cannon hits, the rest are probably kamikazes.

GOP Senate blocked it not House / Gaetz crowd so it’s not just Freedom Caucus or Rand Paul. The Congressional calendar 📅 looks pretty tied up into spring. Biden signaled some flexibility on border tonight so still possible to get bills passed by next week before they leave for holidays but if not it could really stretch out far into 2024 https://www.ft.com/content/8393572d-d877-4000-bb92-f6d81104c7ca

Frankly, I don’t believe you.  Anyone with 98,000 posts knows exactly how it works around here.  And yes I have read your threads.  You speak mildly but your news is intended to draw a certain reaction from a certain clientele.  Your threads are clearinghouses for the hate-filled and the mentally-ill, and I’m ashamed that at least some of them are fellow citizens.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

Putin does a big annual press conference in December, scheduled for 12/14. There is always a big audience, and he takes question. As we predicted, the Senate did not support the termination of the debate on the bill on the package of international aid, - Oksana Markarova, the ambassador of Ukraine to the United States.

"Today, 51 senators (49 Republicans, one independent Bernie Sanders) and one Democrat (Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, who voted last when the result was clear) voted against ending debate on the international aid bill released the day before, which included Ukraine, Israel , Taiwan and the states of the Indo-Pacific region.
With 60 votes required for a decision, 49 senators (47 Democrats and two independents) voted for the start of work on the draft law.
This does not eliminate the possibility of re-introducing the bill to the vote in the near future. "Representatives of the Republican Party, who announced a negative vote on international aid in advance, previously stated that they could not support a bill that would not include the issue of the US southern border/changes in migration policy," the Ukrainian diplomat said.

Markarova also expressed her own opinion about the consequences of this decision for Kyiv.

"What does this mean for Ukraine? At all meetings, the senators assured us that today's vote is not a vote against Ukraine. That the internal political events taking place in the US Congress will not affect the continued support of our state, which will be continued thanks to bipartisan support. Therefore, we continue active work with our colleagues and based on very productive meetings these days, we hope that even before Christmas, the Congress will support an agreed package, which will include defense, budget, humanitarian and energy aid for Ukraine for 2024," said Markarova.
