That ain't right.

I haven't been to Giant Eagle in a long time, probably not since I moved out to "10 miles past BFE" as one of my friends put it one time, but the grocery store I usually go to these days is still pushing summer stuff. Thankfully.

We actually have a lot of significant waterways to police. People don't often stop to consider them on account them being mostly landlocked.

This is true, Bruce Willis and his service pony did a documentary about it a while back.

One of my friends in college was from along the stretch of the Allegheny where they filmed it. He got a wave from Bruce from the boat when they were between shots, nothing from Carey Bradshaw though.

When I was a kid living in NJ, walking into Macy’s near back to schoool time had Christmas items starting to show on the shelves.  Now where I live, Giant Eagle has continued the tradition except with Halloween and fall harvest stuff.  Walmart too has an isle dedicated to fall decor.

I remember them filming that back in the early nineties

They were doing shoots on the Allegheny in my hometown of Tarentum

He lived outside of Lower Burrell, I didn't know him until a couple of years after they filmed it but it was pretty cool hanging out and drinking beer on his dock and knowing that Bruce Willis was right ----> there at one point, blessing the river with his Bruce-ness.

Did he dock on the Tarentum/Brackenridge shore? That's a really popular boat launch.

I spent a metric ton of time along that stretch of river as a kid. I was never cool enough to know anyone that actually owned a boat, though

I recall this. Your wife is originally from Tarentum, just like me.

Ask your wife how she pronounces it for some fun.

The proper pronunciation is 'Ta-ren-tum'

The locals have a lazy-slang pronunciation that blends together as 'chrenum'

No idea that was 25 years ago and I only went down there a few times, honestly I was more worried about hitting on chicks in tiny bikinis and drinking beer to worry about where the dock was at. River, boat, dock, chicks, beer, that was about all I noticed.

I've noticed that when driving at night there is inevitably At Least One Car that only has One headlight working.  Coming, going, Somebody somewhere is driving a car without a working headlight.

With the way the Local Police crack down on those cars I cannot understand why there are so many cars with broken headlights.

A few years ago I had a headlight go out.  Before I could get it repaired a police car stopped me and gave me a ticket. I returned it with a copy of the repair invoice.  The LAST time I had a problem with headlights I made a appointment and had the clerk give me a nice 8½ by 11 copy of my scheduled appointment Just In Case.
Naturally, I never saw a cop car while waiting for My Appointment Day to come up.

I'm told by the Local Neighborhood Weathermen that PA has had THE Second Wettest Summer - June, July and August - in history.

I'm inclined to believe them.
Hurricane Agnes just about dying over PA set the record.
Oh, the mess Agnes left.  I know a couple of places where the rain washed out railroad tracks.  I'm talking a 10 plus foot wide by about 4 foot deep gap.

Gas line explosion this morning in Center Twp. I woke up at 0500 and saw a weird, eerie yellow sky to the west and didn't know what was happening. Well, on my way to work I saw what the deal was.

Pretty sure Shell has been running lines back there for the cracker plant, too.

I was with aunts in Frackville when Agnes hit.
I can only imagine what it was like in Girardville - situated in the valley between Frackville and Shenandoah - with all that water.  Nearly two feet of rain water and they're getting runoff from both sides of the hilltops as well.
