No. Laughable poor advice.

The time to prepare is BEFORE the event.

Fight today to prevent future gun bans!

What makes you think they will let you keep anything?

Buy weapons face-to-face or manufacture some 80% lowers and store them remotely.

Buying an 80% lower from a manufacturer possibly leaves a paper trail.

The question becomes what means of torture will the United States Government use upon its citizens to get information?

I'm assuming we're going to have gulags in the next couple of years unless the adults get put in charge again.

Magazines.  I don't expect an ammo ban on non-Soviet calibers (and then only an import ban), but I do expect higher taxes at some point.

Buy extra everything.  Preserve and bury one or two complete ones plus ammo as a hedge against surprise confiscation while you're not home.

Except when you get I expectedly red flagged by a leftist co worker and they escort you back to your house to load up all your weapons.

There is a good reason to cache a spare weapon and ammo.

This is true, at some point we, not just gun owners but all that enjoy freedom will be pushed into standing our ground and I'm afraid that day is near.  Once that threshold is crossed from where ever it originates it will spread across the nation like wildfire.

We are either a free nation and keep it that way or we go the way of Venezuela and now Columbia, that is the choice.

Is there a gun that when it is 30 years old it is still going to be good? I think a AR or AK should survive time, Do you think the plastic guns(Glock,XD,M&P) from the last 20 years will survive to 30-40 years old?

I see alot of guys saying that if it is time to bury them it is time to use them. What are you going to do if a team of guys show up for confiscation? 1 person cant take on a team unless you have been watching Rambo and staying at a holiday inn.

I think having some buried in strategic location is a great back up plan but I cant figure out how to keep the moisture out of one for many years. The idea about keeping it below the frost line was a great idea that I had not thought of.

I’m preparing by getting as much professional training as possible, buying ammo (though not for hoarding), training with like-minded individuals locally, and making sure my gear (e.g. armor, LBE, radio, drones, NV devices, thermal, etc.) is squared away. Also gotta remember batteries for all that shit.

At the risk of sounding self-righteous, this is the only correct answer

Yep- Glocks expire after 30 years.  Carried one of mine daily for about 23 years of duty, and it has been a couple years mostly sitting in the safe since I retired, so I figure I have 5 more years before it melts into a puddle...

Seriously though- just change the springs on the mags and recoil spring, put on new night sights every 7 years or so, and they last a long time.  Have yet to see a Glock with polymer aging issues.  Probably last forever in a safe.

Probably just need a pen and a pad of paper so you can list all the reasons they were just range toys anyway,  and you don't really mind the confiscation.

After all, we've made excuses for why the bio weapon the deep state developed in China and then deployed on us was just a mishap.

And how the subsequent forced gene experiment wasn't that big a deal.

And how the blatant overthrow of our government was probably just soccer moms reacting to mean tweets.

And now how the eviceration of the working class is just a mismanagement issue,..

We ain't standing up to shit, so no need to work up a sweat digging holes.

I think it's funny that you think any future federal ban would have grandfathering of existing weapons. They're not going to make that mistake again. Eventually the dems will be in power again and they'll have enough of a majority where they can do it without a filibuster. The republicans did it with abortion, there is no question in my mind dems will do it with guns as revenge.

I heard a 10.5 80% ar broken down, and a poly80 g26 along with mags and ammo for each will fit nicely in a 4 inch by 4 foot long pvc pipe.

Why you would want to do this I have no idea.

With the versatility of the AR platform, I would thinking buying a bunch of lowers wouldn't be a priority.  If anything, I would buy a few different upper/barrel configs that you could slap on your lower for different scenarios.  I would also invest in a multiple quantities of each lower component, i.e. springs, detents, etc for long term maintenance and serviceability.

Maybe having a backup lower would be nice, but honestly, I wonder how long it would take for the physical lower itself to be unserviceable?  I could see springs wearing out before the lower unit itself.

Oh...and ammo...always ammo.

Depends on if you have a strategy. Is the ban of some item (which we don't know yet exactly what is going to be banned) expected to be temporary in nature (1994 "Assault Weapons") or part of a trend of more restrictions on life? That determines the resistance strategy.

In any case, measures which tend to support ammunition supply and manufacture would be my first priority - need to feed them, followed by ability to stockpile raw materials and manufacture.

If they insist on pushing federal gun control and our reps at that level are unwilling or unable to stop it, we'll have to work on creating state and local-level environments hostile to the enforcement of their overreach. Elect people who don't mind telling the feds to go to hell and will make their life enforcing their BS edicts difficult and we'll be in the best bad position we can be in at least.
