 Attached File Attached FileIt exploded! I swear! I was just looking at it.  Attached File Attached FileAnd the new hound. Mix of a mix of a mix of a mix but 100% loyal hound, yard vigilante. She was born in prison (animal control), then sent back when she was two and a half and did three months on the inside. Was really aloof with people, not mean at all, just wanted nothing to do with people. Was a runner. Now she's phenomenal with people of all personalities. 100% protective and keyed on me. The wife brought the Ridgeback home and it bonded with her. I brought this one home and she's bonded with me. The first time she saw a physical therapist working with him, she did not like it at all. I had to remove her from his room. She was growling and putting herself in between the therapist and our son. Once she gets to know someone, she will still sit and watch everything. It's really kind of amazing to watch. She's really keyed into our son. We noticed that when our son is fixing to have a seizure she'll bark at him and warn us. |

I backed off and called the neighbors to come get him. Was not real sure a cylinder full .38 would actually stop one.

I can only contribute cat pictures right now. Our Pomeranian Gizzy passed in January, 4 months after our Heeler passed (she is in my avatar).
We are talking with a GSD breeder and if everything goes well we will have a puppy by the end of September. I present Garrus, he is a gentleman. He is marked as a feral cat, but the shelter said he was so nice they put him with the rest of the kittens. Here was his photo on the humane society website. Often times the animals are only slightly off to the real thing, but sometimes really off - for instance, "wild ox" is actually "re'em", the oryx - a large ungulate about the size of an American elk. Still, "save me from the horn of a unicorn/oryx" never really made sense until I saw one on a Planet earth type show, when it really fucked up an attacker with its horns....... As far as greyhounds, I'm not going into the Hebrew nor comparing it with the ancient Greek and Latin translations (which might be helpful for zoologic correlation) but we have this - bottom line is that this kind of hound is definitely 1000s of years old, but the KJV reference might be off. The ancient skeletal remains of a dog identified as being of the greyhound/saluki form were excavated at Tell Brak in modern Syria,[when?] and dated as being approximately 4,000 years old.[58][59] Historical literature by Arrian on the vertragus (from the Latin 'vertragus', a word of Celtic origin),[60] the first recorded sighthound in Europe and possible antecedent of the Greyhound, suggested that its origin lies with the Celts from Eastern Europe or Eurasia.
