I did. It still doesn't fit and locks the gun out of battery if you try and force it.

This is an exaggerated pic. I'll get a couple better ones...

Without comp in an M17-compatible Safariland
https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/523928/20231006_082540_jpg-2980569.JPG

Without barrel plugs and with comp. I had to force it in and now it's stuck. Which was the problem before. It was not locking in with the comp.

It might, but the prices for Safariland don't justify their quality, IMO. I'm not buying anymore(I have 3).

Take that cross bar out of the end on the 6000 series.  Then do a little heat gun work on the muzzle end of the holster to clearance for the comp, and squeeze the bottom part to keep the light cover in place without the threaded bar clamping it tight.

I repurposed an old P320 full-size/M17 6390 RDS for a PDP Pro SD with comp, but it still works with the comped 320 too.

Wait for sales or check tacswap? My last safirland was 40% off direct. I agree full price is silly.

Looks like a nice gun!

This isn’t directed at you personally, but I really don’t get the point of putting the shortest comp possible on a gun that’s also got the longest WML bezel on the market attached to the rail. Why not get a longer more effective comp since it won’t increase the pistol’s OAL anyway

For me it was really I have a G17 OWB and AIWB holster, this lets me use what I have already. The long light doesnt bother me.

The problem for me was an RDS Safariland wrapped in multicam for X300 and Full-size P320. It never went on sale anywhere for less than $210.

I gave up and paid full price for one at $275 shipped.

Still working on getting mine to fit. I added tape the second time and didn't get it hot enough and i should have my holster fit tonight... hopefully.

G-Code Syncron with Mag Caddy. Took a couple of hours with a heat gun, trimming, and a little sand paper. It’s lays super flat on my tub tummy. Feels like a very clean draw and I’m very optimistic it will the best I’ve had so far.

Got a Holosun SCS-320 in today, mounted it on a P226.  It's a Delta Point Pro/Romeo1 Pro footprint.

Glass is better than the EPS full-size it replaced, and the EPS had good glass.  Window size is almost identical (and it's about the same as a RMR).

And it just looks better on the SIG, for what that's worth.

Looks excellent. I almost sprang for a SCS-320 for my X-Five but they were still fairly new and not in stock anywhere so I opted for the 508T. How does the auto-adjust sensor work with the WML?

They do.  Sorta.  A 7TS for a P320 full size works well.  (it's a DIY Cordura wrap though)

A 6390 RDS for a P320 Full Size also works (this is one I keep a PDP in, hence the Walther band, and also an aging DIY wrap).

Works well.  I've been running the SCS PDP version for months now, even does well under night vision.  And if you feel the need, it's one quick button press to over ride the auto brightness for 30 minutes and go full bright.

So I've been thinking about getting a Trijicon RMR HD (the new one) for my ccw piece - mainly because I trust Trijicon quality and durability compared to some of the other dot manufacturers. And I know their customer service will stand behind their products.

My biggest issue is that it does not have shake awake, and it seems like the solution to that is turning the dot on every time you head out the door which I am not a huge fan of and seems almost like a dealbreaker to me.

So that brings me to the Holoson 509 series; it seems to have all of the latest and greatest features which is obviously a good thing. But I am hung up on putting a CHINESE product on a carry piece. It is also cheaper which is also a good thing?

Can someone give me some other points of view that I can consider?

Why not simply leave the RMR on 24/7 like the rest of the world?

Battery life is measured in years, just change the battery once a year and stop over thinking this.

I used to shoot a pepper popper at 100 yards with iron sights on my Beretta 92FS in double-action.

It's easier with a dot and striker-fired, though.

@Croak

Thanks, that’s neat! I have a 7TS too, since I tried it and realized I greatly prefer the 6-series, so may be able to repurpose.

I don’t want to recreate Canadian specops bubba’ing 226 holsters then shooting off 320’s in them, but a DA 226 concerns me a bit less.

Shake awake is a solution to companies with abysmal battery life. RMR does not have that problem.

Seriously, it’s not like a rifle optic where you have to press a button or turn a dial in order to illuminate it. Mount it, zero it, leave it on, change the battery once a year, enjoy life.

If you can find one in stock, it certainly seems as though Trijicon’s new RMR HD is the highest of top tier optics. The Holosun 508T/509T have displayed at least equal durability and reliability (to Trijicon) in independent, long-term, objective testing. But if you just can’t shake the Chynuh willies, you won’t ever be served wrong with a RMR HD

7075 aluminum is just fine for optic housings.  Just ask Trijicon.

Holosun went the Ti route on their "flagship" line not because they had to, but because it gave them some cachet when there was concern about durability of their products when they launched years ago.

The aluminum 507C, 507K, EPS, etc have all proven to hold up just fine, as has the SCS lineup.

I know that logically, but there’s just something that feels better about having a Ti optic housing. Gives me the warm and fuzzies

I'm getting ready to buy my M18 red dot.  Pretty sure I'm going with the Sig romeo1 Pro in FED (6 mil dot).

I'll need a new holster.  I typically like the Safariland ALS type locking paddle holsters, but they don't offer one with the ALS system.  They do have a paddle holster with the GLS locking system.  Comments on this holster?

Any other ideas on other locking paddle holsters that are red dot ready?

Thanks!

I'll need a new holster.  I typically like the Safariland ALS type locking paddle holsters, but they don't offer one with the ALS system.  They do have a paddle holster with the GLS locking system.  Comments on this holster?

Any other ideas on other locking paddle holsters that are red dot ready?

Thanks!

Posts a question knowing you’ll get optic shamed and forced to buy another red dot to stop the outrage….ends up with 2 red dots.

I'd put a 509T on one. Or EPS.

That holster is designed for a light; which is why it didn't show up on my previous searches.  Will that holster still - and lock - without the light?

Thanks!

And that's how he ends up with a second gun because you can't have an optic lying around without a home.
