We have been repeatedly warned, in recent weeks, that if republicans take control of Congress with the mid-terms, we will see 1- the end of democracy 2- civil war I think that we will at least see some mild rioting in areas that have previously shown that they will allow leftists to riot. They have already claimed that republican control of Congress for the next two years will allow Trump to steal the 2024 election, so some of them will be looking for any excuse to stir up their useful idiots and try to blame it all on the republicans. |

Yeah, they orchestrated the report to make it sound like the employee just attacked customers for no reason, then the first segment of video they showed from the "attack" showed him beating them with something. My first thought at that point, was "how the fuck did those poor victimized customers get behind the counter and partway back to the food prep area?". Then they start to show things from the beginning, where the employee was questioning the $50 bill they were trying to pass (something cashiers are trained to do), and they got pissed off about it and began physically attacking him, with him retreating to the food prep area before beginning his so called "attack". Not only should he not have been charged (questioned definitely, but the full video shows no reason to charge him), but the feds should have been notified to look into whether or not the two "victims" were passing phony money, given that they reacted so violently to any doubts that their money was real. |

Just saw another headline about the twitter layoffs, and the bashing of Musk for firing people struck me as odd when compared to the last week or two of people ranting about shutting down their twitter accounts and companies putting a hold on advertising on twitter (at least for now).
They act like it's all Elon Musk's fault those people are losing their jobs, when they just went through a huge public opinion campaign to destroy twitter as a company, increasing the need for twitter to lay people off, regardless of what Musk's plans were. Way too many people that rarely, if ever, had to face the consequences of their own choices, when they were supposedly growing up. |

The charges against the women, one of whom suffered a skull fracture, won't be made public until a Jan. 11 arraignment. Their lawyer, Harold Baker, said he believed they were being charged with burglary. "The guy that does the beating gets to walk out the door, and the people he beats end up getting charged — it seems backward to me," Baker said. But McIntosh has said he simply defended himself after Darbeau hit him in the face and both irate women went menacingly behind the counter at a McDonald's in Manhattan's Greenwich Village on Oct. 13. The woman, both 24, got angry when a cashier inspected a $50 bill they'd presented, a witness testified at a hearing in October. McIntosh, 31, was working as a cook that night but became enmeshed in the dispute as he took some food to the counter. The video, shot by another customer, shows McIntosh grabbed a metal grill-cleaning tool and hit the women, even after they sank behind the counter to the floor. Darbeau was left with a fractured skull, broken arm and neurological damage, and Edwards' injuries included a serious cut to her face, Baker said. McIntosh's lawyer, Theodore Herlich, has said the women were trying to get up and McIntosh couldn't be sure what harm they aimed to do to him. Herlich didn't immediately return a phone call Thursday evening. McIntosh — released in March from about 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter — initially was arrested and arraigned on felony assault and weapons charges in the McDonald's fracas. But prosecutors said Dec. 2 that the grand jury had declined to indict him on any charges. The women, on the other hand, initially were arraigned on misdemeanor trespassing charges. Baker said they regretted their "inappropriate behavior" at the eatery. But it doesn't compare to McIntosh's conduct, and the grand jury shouldn't have been asked to consider all three cases together, he said.
