Attached File My son just picked up a 2012 R6. About 10k miles, really good shape. He's super excited. He's been riding for a couple years and put a ton of miles on my wife's bike last year after he took the MSF course and got his license. Too bad it's snowing! Looking forward to riding with him on his own bike. |

Was quite surprised how nicely the 400’s were built. They seem like bikes you wouldn’t want to get ride of as soon as you learned how to ride. |

I liked the looks of both, but the Guzzi had anti-lock brakes and shaft drive, so for safety and ease of maintenance I went with the V9. It's also very easy and fast to pop the valve covers off to adjust the valves. The Guzzi also has traction control but I don't think it's ever activated the way I ride. Attached File |

long time lurker and finally pulled the trigger. new to bikes completely. took my moto safety course and scooped up this 300sm. suuuuuuuper fun bike and a seemingly great learner. zipped around town all day yesterday and plan to do the same today. better pix to come for sure - this is as soon as I got home yesterday. did some tinkering with the KLX yesterday and took her for an early morning spin today. this bike is so, so much fun zipping around parkways when there is zero traffic. stopped off at a few parks / lakes along the way on a decent 2 hour loop. TST Industries fender eliminator kit. plug and play super easy install - do recommend. and yes, thats a Tenere 700... this is very addicting. edit to add - already bought some new tires for the KLX that I should get this week. went up a size on both front and rear - 120/70/17 & 140/70/17 Michelin Road 6's. the stock tires blow Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

You're dealing with street tires. Smaller contact patch and the extra width will never touch the road without crashing. The beads have to go further inward in order to seat, thus pulling in the edges of the tire. I've run a 120/70 on a 3" rim, but only because I had an excess of race takeoffs to use. No traction benefit and you are added un-sprung weight and more rotating mass. I now have a 110/70 on it since I've used up the old tires. edit to add - a lot of the back country roads I ride are pretty cracked and bumpy in spots so I felt like a little more meat on the tire would help with that If that's the goal, a higher profile tire is what you're looking for 110/80 or 110/90 But those aren't common. |

A full exhaust will get the same top end but not at the expense of your midrange…… which is where you spend 98% of your time on the bike. I know that shorty exhausts are popular, but there is a reason race teams don’t use them. |

a few updates on my end - today was the day I took the T7 on its first voyage. left at sunrise and carved out a 200+ mile "loop" through all the country back roads around my area / region. my GPS even took me through several miles of dirt and crushed rock roads - LOVE IT! Attached File Attached File update on the KLX SM: went with the 120/70/17 & 140/70/17 Road6's and absolutely love them. they are a size wider front and rear and it makes the bike feel much more "grounded" and less like a toy. still very flickable but feel more confident and they are much more sticky. also got my Yoshi exhaust today and while I cant stand the giant red sticker, it sounds fantastic. have had a few beers so am going to have to hold off on taking her for a rip until tomorrow morning unfortunately. 327 mile loop this morning / today on the T7. left right at sunup and stopped every 45 minutes to an hour just to stretch and see the sights. drove through (4) different national forests / preserves and never touched a highway. the first few hours of my ride I was the only one on the roads 99% of the time but once churches started letting out every small town along the way got a little crowded. what a beautiful way to spend a sunday! also - its VERY difficult to take pictures while on a moto trip. I usually only stop at gas stations and am not really "looking around" while riding so only snapped a few pix of the T7 and my street tacos! edit to add - Seat Concepts seat is a game changer. got it on Friday and it makes a world of difference! took the T7 to see the beach on Sunday on a nice 5 hour loop through the piney woods then down to the gulf. also got a Neotec 3 and wow what a helmet. feels like nothing when you're wearing it and at least compared to the Scorpion Exo 960 I had been using - its way more quite and a lot less buffeting. pretty spendy but why not....?
