My old reliable. Been dunked in saltwater more times than I can count. I carry it when fishing.

Just dunk it in the melted ice in the cooler and blow it out with CorrosionX when I get home.

Been over a year since I fired it. Took my 10 year old son with me to the range, put plugs and muffs on him and he still tried to hide in the back corner of the room when I started putting 357's downrange.

Love it.   There are some things that are a little rough as far as finish but it's accurate, durable, and has a surprisingly good trigger.  Much better than my GP100 before working it over some.

They offer a couple other models and I'm hoping they expand their offerings.   It's possible I got lucky but it seems really well made.   $225.

Cool.   Always lookin for inexpensive backups or stuff for roadtrips.  Things I wouldn't cry too much over if it was lost or stolen.

No idea.  I couldn't even get my S&W rep to give me a hint about who spec'd these.  It's also DAO, so you can't even cock the hammer if you pull the trigger to partially retract it.  Buying the 37 and having Smith cut the hammer makes zero sense., but I guess it made sense to somebody. The hammer-mounted firing pin makes me think Eastern Europe, and their primers tend to be pretty tough.

I just dig it because it's kinda funky, and it has pretty significant sentimental value for me now.

1996 vintage S&W 642 Airweight with the same PGS Hideout grips I put on it the day I bought it.

I like those grips. The Apex kit is the first thing I put in my J frames. If the sight is pinned I also install an XS standard dot front sight.

I believe it was a police issue at one time. Was given to me.  Shot very little and in great shape but some  dents above trigger guard on one side.

The other snubbie in the group pic is my 351c 22 Magnum I use for bike riding and jogging.  So light don't even know it is there.

This thread and about 300pcs of 38 brass got me back to playing snub nose.

Ran out of 158gr projectiles and remember I had some Speer shot cups. Loaded up 5 test rounds.

Did you buy this off of a guy named Brian? It looks just like my old edc but sold it years ago. That was one of those guns that I regretted selling instantly after selling.

Even had the clip draw on it. God I miss that gun.

I've pocket carried this 642 five shifts a week for the last 18 years as my back up. I'm on about the 6th or 7th pocket holster. The anodizing can be scrapped off with a finger nail. For 6 years before the 642 I carried a Walther PPK. 4 years to go and the old girl will retire with me. Attachment Attached File

LOL Gunkid.

I ran across him the first day I got internet, years ago, although I think he was still using the HARDIN moniker at that time. Earned his wrath with my first or second post on the old SHOOTER'S website.

What a nut he was, but pure entertainment.
