Sounds about 100% correct. This is what they should do. Except maybe they should also smile, and wave.

"Now."
If you see a cop car riding around at night with solid blue lights constantly on, there's a chance he's doing it to deliberately broadcast his presence and get criminals to pause their activities until he leaves. |

They have no problem pulling employed citizens over in the good part of town for “speeding”

Pretty tough when you know that if you are proactive and get into a use of force even when fully justified you may be crucified at the alter of public perception.
Most of the big arrests you see are officers going above the minimum required level of work, most of the crime prevention is those same proactive guys who have always worked to keep their communities safe. What's the point now days, imagine going to work where nearly 90% of the people you meet cuss you out and treat you like a worthless human. Also you are likely short staffed and having to work insane amounts of overtime. On top of all that many of the good officers you could count on are leaving the job because of the horrible treatment. Just makes for very tough situations and does very little to encourage being proactive. Just watched my buddy get written up for a pursuit of a stolen car. It was determined by admin he was outside of policy because he went over 75mph in a neighborhood at 3am. He caught the guys who had a stolen gun in the car also. Due to the write up he was removed from the eligible pool of people for an upcoming promotion that he was likely gonna get. The black female lazy officer will now likely get the promotion because she never gets into anything. |

Yeah they'll stop pulling over until some white guy shoots a black man in self defense.

Good for law enforcement... I wouldn’t police shit in this environment...eat donuts and collect your pay guys...let the criminals kill each other and hopefully victimize a lot of brain diseased liberals that vote Democrat/communists

|
OP are you the type to bitch about paying taxes if you won the lottery?

Kind of stupid to make a traffic stop when all of your backup is tied up on calls.
In case you haven't noticed the staffing issues aren't getting any better... Not to mention the current political climate. |
|
You know white people are pretty easy to police.
Let's crack down on them |
|
I've seen more motorcycle cops doing speed enforcement since the beginning of the year on my commute through the suburbs.
One time on my way home a cop took off trying to catch somebody from across the four lane road into the merge lane. I slowed down thinking he would gun it front of me but I guess he was going to wait until I passed. I saw him get behind me and I put on my blinker to get over to the right lane. Then he moved and passed me in the right lane and speed up about 100 feet. His head was bobbing around looking for the vehicle, but he lost them in the 45 mph traffic and had to make a u-turn at the light and go back to his speed trap. Someone owes me a beer. |

Brazen criminals don’t stop at the county line. They get more emboldened, they branch out. Sure many are armed but you and I will be held to the fire for protecting ourselves. Criminals that survive will be turned loose. The left has pretty much won by now. |

You consult the list of “voters” that cost $8.70 from the board of elections… and BOOM!
Your patrol population in the county just dropped from 67,000 to 41,000. |

I would love to see a nationwide outbreak of the BLUE FLU
A couple weeks aught to make the point |

Correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t the Columbus police chief thrown his guys under the bus more than a few times in the past year?

If anyone wearing a badge is being proactive and making traffic stops, they need their head examined.
Take your calls, do your reports, collect your paycheck and go home. |

If would have no problem with it...
*IF ...it was universal. But we all know that's not the case. |

What do you expect?
Big arrest big problems Little arrests little problems No arrests no problems Police are expected to do the unthinkable with no support and no force. You get the police you want. |
|
It is already happening in my city. No proactive policing has happened in the ghetto for months. The shooting and murder numbers are through the roof and the city council members that are responsible for those areas are screaming about their crime rates. Last year these were the same council members that were calling for police reform, blah, blah, blah. Now their constituents are screaming for safety and more help from the police. But it is too late because the police already shut the proactive faucet off because of the council member's police blood lust.
