Well to be fair, IF the story is accurate, someone laced the marijuana she was using with Meth and she became addicted right away. As I understand it, that is totally possible. Maybe it's not and I'm ignorant of the science.

But if true, well that's really fucked up and sad.

I do think that had she gotten it from a marijuana store/manufacturer that does it legally... that would never have happened.

It would be like someone putting some drug in my beer that got me instantly addicted and I did something similar... not cool and due to the nature of legality, it's not something that could be traced or even questioned really.

Now if she's lying and just tried meth while being intoxicated on marijuana and she's trying to cover her stupidity tracks... well... she knows she's fucked up.

I've known hardcore meth users for years. Never seen one so geeked out they would gouge out their own eyes. Tons of other stupid shit, yes. Face picking for hours. Delusions about shit coming out of their skin, yes. Maybe she thought bugs were coming out of her eyes. Don't think that would be just meth, though. Maybe if some PCP was in there, or if she was also doing bath salts, yeah, that I would believe more than just simple meth and weed usage.

And then there's the possibility this is all a bullshit story anyway.

We had a patient do that very thing in the parking lot of one of my hospitals. I don't recall their exact street pharmacy regimen.

It doesn't really matter whether you manage to enucleate your entire globe intact or just macerate it and ruin it. Either way, you've removed your own eyes. As far as I know, there isn't a hierarchy based on who gouges their own eyes out most elegantly.

I work in correctional healthcare as an RN and health administrator. At my facility a kid went after his eye once. Managed to get it partially out of socket before he was rushed. Had been eating shit off and on for a few days prior.

My regional manager watched some dude on spice rip his testicles out. First ripped his scrotum open and then went after the testes. He put them in the drain in the crisis cell. I guess he was pretty quick with it and they couldn't get to him fast enough. She said people were puking.

I don't know what the physiology is but meth itself doesn't seem to cause such behavior in everyone - although that goes without saying. The eye guy I saw probably did some meth but was also schizophrenic. It seems like it triggers schizophrenia and certainly causes psychosis in some people. I think lack of sleep coupled with meth binge is what triggers the "pull your eyes out" psychosis in the story.

They really need to be sharing this shit in high schools. Problem is in sure it's an absolutely awesome feeling up front. That's why even trying it once is a bad fucking plan.
