My observation is that the majority of folks who watch Tarantino movies are middle class-to-affluent white men who had/have a near-zero exposure to the type of element Mr. Wallace referred to when using the term "pipe hitting." This caused a great number of folks to equate the term with someone who is a badass who might, presumably, hit another person with a pipe rather than a crack head who will torture another human being to death for a monetarily insignificant amount of crack cocaine.
Thus, the term has been adapted through ignorance. |
