I ate one down near Tampa last year just to see what everyone was raving about and I thought it sucked. Dry and crusty! Cutting the sub in the middle diagonally at a radical angle is stupid too. Just cut the damn thing in half straight across! The meat was good though, so I ended up eating it keto sans the bread.

on a trip to Tampa I ordered a Cuban sandwich from a restaurant close the airport.  The roasted pork was shredded, not sliced  bread was like a French baguette not like "the Cuban pan de agua"  Is shredded  pork (looked like Mexican carnitas) common?

Shredded/pulled roast pork is proper ......only time I've seen sliced pork on a Cubano it came from a gas station

I am sure that is how they started, but sliced pork has been a norm for a while. I find the texture much more pleasing.
