I noted somewhere on the page when Hagbard was discussing how one group controls both sides of things and then comes out of nowhere with a third option that it sounded very Hegelian. Thesis, antithesis and synthesis. For instance they were speaking about right and left, communists and fascists. And how there's always a 3rd option in bewteen, but that the mystery group (illuminati) in the the book controlled all three to get people to sway and amenable to the 3rd option, when they're ready of course.... In many ways, Trump is our 3rd option. He ran as Republican, he's donated to Democrats, Republican politicians (many) dislike him as much as the dems. The most ridiculous conspiracy theory is that the government has our best interests in mind, would never do harm to it's own citizens, always tells the truth, and can be trusted without question.
