For the best dog I would go with the Jindo, they are typically white or orange color, native to Korea and somewhat difficult to get in the United States at least as a purebred, they are known for their near suicidal levels of loyalty, often refusing food from strangers, To quote Wikipedia "In 1993, a 7-year-old female Jindo named Baekgu (??; ??; translated as a White Dog), raised by Park Bok-dan (???), an 83-year-old woman on Jindo Island, was sold to a new owner in the city of Daejeon which is located about 300 km (180 mi) away from the island. The dog escaped her new home and returned to her original owner, Bak, after 7 months, haggard and exhausted. Baekgu remained with her original owner, who decided to keep the loyal dog, until the dog died of natural causes 7 years later. The story was a national sensation in South Korea and was made into cartoons, a TV documentary, and a children's storybook.[20] In 2004, Jindo County erected a statue of Baekgu in her hometown to honor the dog.[21]

Another Jindo, also named Baekgu, a 4-year-old male at the time who lived alone with his owner Park Wan-suh (???) residing on Jindo Island, did not eat anything and mourned for his dead owner for seven days after the owner died from a liver disease in June 2000.[22] According to Chosun Ilbo, the dog accompanied his dead owner for three days until other people came to find the body, followed the owner to his funeral, and came back home, not eating anything for four days. The Korean Jindo Dog Research Institute (??? ?????) brought him under its care, but a person related to the Institute announced that the dog would not interact with anyone except for his feeder as of 2005"

As to most fabulous I would go with the hairless Chinese Crested, small little guys that have high energy yet won't drive you nuts like a Jack Russell Terrier they are also fairly quiet for a small dog, they've been used by the Chinese for a few centuries to help with Vermin control, notably on boats, true rat Hunters you could say, a neat thing about them along with a few other dogs is that they are capable of sweating like humans can and have really neat hair.

If going with something more conventional though I would say it's Shar Pei with it's adorable wrinkles

What are your choices?

Best for me?

Probably a Bull Terrier. They’ve stolen my heart with their silliness.

Most fabulous?

Standard poodle. They sort of embody the definition of FABULOUS.

I've got a couple Chinese Cresteds, but not the hairless variety like you have pictured there.  Great little dogs - even as adults, they're very playful, energetic and affectionate.  They don't shed. No, they're not intimidating dogs, but they are pretty good about alerting you anything out of the ordinary. If they see a car coming up the driveway or someone outside the house, you will definitely hear about it.

My GSD/Rot mutt is turning out to be a badass after a lot of training. Fiercely loyal and protective. Very playful.

Some may remember me wanting to take him out back and shoot him  after he destroyed a window trying to "escape" my house. Chopping his nuts really helped out.....

My old Golden Retriever was the sweetest animal alive.

my brother has a chinese crested.

they're needy, obnoxious and have poor health.

they loose their teeth easily, need to have sun screen applied constantly, often get large moles. If you let them outside in an area with anything sharper than a worn out crayon, they will come back in bleeding.

they will shit inside in the winter. anything below 65 and they're freezing.

They're quite possibly the worst dogs a to consider unless you plan on carrying it around in a bag and live in a high rise in a warm area.

I feel bad for them, what a terrible breed to have created.

Sorry, I'm pretty taken with the brown dog on the right.  I keep seeing his siblings are winning show after show too.  I almost feel like I ripped him off but I'm pretty sure his siblings stay outdoors and he doesn't.  He's very spoiled.  Hell, both of them are.

Bullmastiff.

Highly intelligent, loyal to the family, protective, big and intimidating, but VERY lazy so they won't destroy the house if you leave them alone for a few hours.

Imagine a roided-out GSD that lives to eat, sleep, poop, sleep, scare off intruders, sleep, repeat.

I'll be honest.  I fought getting a male dog because I've always had females.  I was afraid of the marking and all the bad things I've heard about unaltered male dogs.
But he's a great dog.  He learned to use the bells to go out in about 3 weeks flat.  He's marked all of three times in the house, and when you shame him, he knows what you're doing and it bothers him.
He's seriously sweet too.  Not at all what I expected.

His father is a grand champion from out of Slovenia.

Mine too. She WAS a crack addict on speed that was mainlining monster energy drinks. She would run and run and run. Shes older now and like the comfy bed we have for her now.

I hunted with my Annie. Not nearly enough and I feel horrible for not giving her the opportunity to do what she loved more often.
