Agreed, unless it's fried.    We're having Cornish hens this year.

Damn OP, that's some dem sounding shit right there.

Eat what the fuck you want and the rest of us will enjoy turkey or whatever suits us.

This.

I like it when it is served correctly, and I love using the leftovers for sandwiches.

Sounds like a first world problem. I prefer the drumsticks, but I wouldn't call turkey boring. Now, go be thankful

Even good Turkey is mediocre compared to the other alternatives. Chicken, ham, let's throw duck in there for good measure. Ham is my favorite at large gatherings and holidays.

Truly the bastard bird.

Thanksgiving is a made up holiday that was developed by the turkey producers association to help them actually sell something other than sandwich meat.

I hate turkey because of boomers.  Boomers who didn't know how to properly cook a turkey.

One year I decided to take matters into my own hands.  Brined a turkey for my mom to cook and fried another one.  I still don't like turkey from years of eating dry nasty ass turkey.

If it was good enough for George Washington and Crazy Horse at the first Thanksgiving, then it’s good enough for me.

As long as it's brined and smoked or fried, it's good to go!

The best part is the left over gobbler sammiches you can make.

Hoagie roll, Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and whatever else is around on a bun!

I agree one hundred percent !  This year is ham for me, maybe a little turkey but it has to have gravy on it.  We don't do Thanksgiving at our house, we go to a friend's place. They do the turkey, and we bring the ham.  Next year I am making tamales!

This, likely created by God himself! Turkey, bacon, lettuce tomato, bacon and loads of mayo! Can't wait to make a club with leftovers! Elk is great OP, so is turkey! I'll get both!

Too salty for a store bought bird that’s already been soaked in salt water.

Good for a wild turkey or a fresh turkey from the farm.

My mom's at the house.  Came home yesterday with a stack of printed recipes and told her to pick one.  None of them involved turkey.

We're having slow cooker chicken and dumplings this year.  They're in the Crock Pot right now.

After making a turkey every Thanksgiving for the past 20 years, I decided it was time for a break.

Brisket > turkey

Always.

It’s possible for turkey to be delicious, but generally it’s an overbred tasteless mutant fowl unworthy of consideration for fine eating.

The most badass turkey anyone can make is just good. The ceiling is very low for turkey.

We cooked one like that at my MIL’s house today.  It was a 21 pound turkey.  Came out really juicy with crispy skin.....but it was still turkey so it was just ok.  The dressing this year was pretty good.  It was a mixture of bread, cornbread, and biscuits.
