“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm those only who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Can it be supposed that those who have the courage to violate the most sacred laws of humanity… will respect the less considerable and arbitrary ones, which can be violated with ease and impunity, and which, if strictly obeyed, would put an end to personal liberty—so dear to men, so dear to the enlightened legislator—and subject innocent persons to all the vexations that the guilty alone ought to suffer?”

I’m sorry you feel so defeated, that you’re willing to just give up before anything has started. It’s an interesting approach to life.

Easy brother.

I understand your frustration, but we need to be guarded with what we say for the time being. It’ll do no one any good getting the hammer before things get going. It’s not going to be like last time.

The governor fleeing is not the litmus test for success (as fun as it was).  The litmus test is whether they try again the next year to pass gun control (or the year after, or the year after) unafraid of us.  They only need one complacent year and the stars aligning to accomplish everything they want.  They still don't fear us or understand the consequences of their actions.  The law enforcement community still doesn't rally to our side.  I still believe Jan 6 was a Reichstag fire organized in response to Lobby Day.  It was a message sent (and received): "Don't get uppity again."  I'm not above standing up, but we need to be smart about it.

Let's face it - we're not going to vote or assemble our way out of this.  It helps and postpones, but it doesn't solve the long-term problem.  The biggest benefit of Lobby Day 2020 was the networking, the precedent and the credibility.  We now know we're not along or powerless.  We know we are the many.  It didn't change the battle with our opponents.  It helped us organize and understand what we're up against.  This isn't about memes or chasing the governor out of Virginia.  This is about legitimately preparing for unconstitutional laws and how we react.  Lobby Day was easy.  What comes next is hard.

I'm not convinced Lobby Day 2.0 is the right move.  I'm not sure what is the right move, but doing the same thing again 6 years later isn't it.  I still stand openly with all here.  The game board has changed and we need to adapt our strategy.  Unless I'm missing something - Lobby Day 2026 isn't going to have the impact of Lobby Day 2020.  I'd love to be wrong, because armed woodstock was a great time once we got the feeling back in our toes and realized we weren't going to get shot that day!!

Lobby Day 2020 was wildly successful. I literally can't imagine anything that would be more powerful or impactful than that day.  Through my travels years later I met people in Asia and Europe who saw us stand and were in awe.  Yet here we are - a mere 5 years later facing down the same tyrants who want to disarm us.  At some point a threat must be backed by action.  I don't know what that looks like.  Repeating LD 2020 would be the easy button, but that's a fantasy unless the Virginia government gives us a clear cause.

Our forefathers still whispered in taverns at this stage, and as I said on the stage in Lobby Day 2020 - they did everything they could avoid conflict.  They cleaned the ships at the tea harbor when they were done - just like our compatriots cleaned up Richmond when we were done.  Our forefathers negotiated and tried diplomacy until it didn't work - just as we are.  Our forefathers ultimately paid the butchers bill when none of that worked.  I hope we end up with a different outcome. There's no way in hell I'm disarming, though, and I'm willing to die on that hill and support our brothers in Virginia (assuming they're willing to stand for themselves).  There's nothing we're lacking that our forefathers had.  They took the same steps we are.  Stand if we must but realize it's a token at some point.

That's a given, but it's not enough.  If we stand alone we'll be picked off.  If we don't organize we fade into oblivion one by one.  If we organize we'll be infiltrated before we break out the cheese puffs.  If our representatives don't understand Constitutional limitations (and the ultimate backstop), we're backed in a corner.  If we just stay in that corner we die for nothing.  Taking any stand against a government entity (even peacefully) will bring the full might of the government against us and earn the derision of our "fellow Countrymen" (said with some sarcasm).

Resisting a government in an era of full information awareness and standing against technological superiority (ex: drones, firepower, air power, armor) is a dangerous mix.  I can't think of a time in history with quite the disparity of intel and capability that we as civilians face today.  It makes me jealous of guys with muskets charging cannons, because they're fortunate compared to what we face.  We're past most the answers we can talk about at this point.

I don’t remember cheese puffs being at the tavern 🤨

Levity aside,  you are very much correct.

And as you previously stated - I too believe the whole J6 dogpile was executed as a result of LD lessons learned as well as in RESPONSE TO LD.  We embarrassed the establishment.   Dont forget the fatal funnels, the snow plows, the QRF’s, the snipers, etc.

Also, not to be overlooked: Spamburger is the deep states anointed one.  She is one of them.  Has been all along.  The entire apparatus has been behind her since she was at The Farm.  She was a shitty legislator in the GA, came out of nowhere.  Simply existed, did her time and then beat Nick Freitas with a found thumb drive in a red area at the 11th hour.

Not that Sears was a good candidate - she wasn’t (and that’s not an attack on her as a person, a Marine, or her very much being a perfect example of the American Dream) - it’s not.  She’s just a terrible politician with even worse advisors, backed by a complacent voting block and completely useless RPV.

Now, Abi gets ungodly amounts of funding, from out of state.  She’s married to the far left, deep state enablers, .gov, and then the National Dems conspire to shut down the government, where the largest voting block in the Commonwealth of Virginia, NoVa (which is where the majority of federal workers and their leeches and hangers on i.e. Langley, .Gov and DOD Contractors, K Street, academia and their stay at home Wine Moms/ AWFLs  live), is out of work or not getting paid - with nothing to do but stump, bitch and make sure they vote - and here we are.

How could a piece of shit like Jay Jones get elected?  Read above.  They’ve been smacked across the face, and they want retribution.  They OWN the GA now.  Fat cunt Lousie Lucas is alll kinds of boisterous. They want their opposition to feel PAIN.  The difference between the right and left?  The right will argue amongst ourselves on how best to implement policy.  The left will fall in lockstep on how best to punish their opposition.

The game has changed completely.  This is NOT KKKoonmans Va Dems.

It’s the far left, the deep state, and Soros level funding with a direct line to CIA level intel.

Whatever happens next, won’t be Canadian bros grilling sausages and weird New Yorkers toting unloaded Barrett’s around for photo ops.  That Canadian dudes competition skills will most likely be needed.

That uneasy/ feeling of dread marching in on that cold ass morning?  Might be felt again.  Unfortunately, it likely wont be fleeting.

Still, I, and many others, are still here, are continuing the fight, and are ready for whatever comes next.

SB27
Status: In Committee
Firearm industry members; standards of responsible conduct, civil liability.

Patron   Introduced by: Jennifer D. Carroll Foy (Chief Patron)

Summary As Introduced

Firearm industry members; standards of responsible conduct; civil liability. Creates standards of responsible conduct for firearm industry members and requires such members to establish and implement reasonable controls regarding the manufacture, sale, distribution, use, and marketing of the firearm industry member's firearm-related products, as those terms are defined in the bill.

Such reasonable controls include reasonable procedures, safeguards, and business practices that are designed to (i) prevent the sale or distribution of a firearm-related product to a straw purchaser, a firearm trafficker, a person prohibited from possessing a firearm under state or federal law, or a person who the firearm industry member has reasonable cause to believe is at substantial risk of using a firearm-related product to harm themselves or unlawfully harm another or of unlawfully possessing or using a firearm-related product; (ii) prevent the loss of a firearm-related product or theft of a firearm-related product from a firearm industry member; (iii) ensure that the firearm industry member complies with all provisions of state and federal law and does not otherwise promote the unlawful manufacture, sale, possession, marketing, or use of a firearm-related product; and (iv) ensure that the firearm industry member does not engage in an act or practice in violation of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act.

The bill also provides that a firearm industry member may not knowingly or recklessly create, maintain, or contribute to a public nuisance, as defined in the bill, through the sale, manufacturing, importing, or marketing of a firearm-related product. The bill creates a civil cause of action for the Attorney General or a local county or city attorney to enforce the provisions of the bill or for any person who has been injured as a result of a firearm industry member's violation to seek an injunction and to recover costs and damages.

I literally posted on here right after Lobby Day 2020 that it wasn't a victory. It was a success, but not a victory. It was a Dunkirk to buy Virginians time.

I hope everyone used that time wisely, but many discussions I've had with folks have pointed towards the fact that most people let complacency set in after LD2020.

Do I think people should roll over now? No, not at all. But I think a lot of hard introspection is long overdue.

For those clutching pearls about the VSP - VSP doesn’t collect any information beyond “rifle, shotgun, or pistol.” They don’t known if what you bought is an AR-15 or a single shot .22 when you buy something from a dealer. There is no “database” showing make and model even if they have everything ever submitted to vCheck.

They also have less than 2000 sworn personnel for the whole state, and a lot more and bigger priorities.

They have neither the information nor the resources to do anything significant.

When j6 happened I was pretty shocked how fast Facebook locked the accounts of the leaders of Culpeper county 2A. Just that fast communication among the organization just stopped. We were able to call each other on the phone but it is incredibly cumbersome and slow. Lots of people were not able to talk to other people at all because it's not like the entire organization had give out everybody's phone numbers. That was a private company who just felt like it was the right thing for them to do to shut us down. It had nothing to do with the govt. About 10 days later the accounts were opened again like nothing ever happened.

At least this time we aren’t starting from 0.

There was a great deal learned, connections were made, Trust was built. All things that give us an opportunity for a good starting point, if its decided we will all work together again.

Unfortunately, once again, most Virginians do nothing until their backs are against the wall.

We are a hard headed bunch.

At least this time we aren’t starting from 0.

There was a great deal learned, connections were made, Trust was built. All things that give us an opportunity for a good starting point, if its decided we all work together again.

Agreed 100%.

Connections, networking and the importance of collaboration and cooperation CANNOT be overstated.  Where would the Commonwealth be up until now without AR15.com?!?!

We’ve been here before.  They learned from us, we have and can learn more from them.  Say what you want about the constantly connected/ surveillance society - but it works both ways.

GREAT choice in artwork . It’s very fitting.

Where are you located?

As a guy that joined here due to almost identical tensions at the time (see post a couple few above), curious if you’re in the same boat.

ETA: If you’re not in VA - that’s not an issue at all.  We welcome and accept all like minded Patriots.

After all, 30-50K of our best friends we’d never met, joined us in Richmond in January just short of 5 years ago.   As has been mentioned (MULTIPLE times), it might be worthy of revisiting that again

Sounds like the start of a registry of gun owners

Virginia could be on track to join 14 other states in requiring a license to purchase firearms, legislators say.
Virginia currently requires background checks before a person can buy a gun and bars some people — those convicted of felonies or who have been committed to a mental hospital, for instance — from owning firearms.
But unlike legislators in states ranging from deep blue Massachusetts to bright red Nebraska, Virginia’s General Assembly has so far balked at the idea of licensing people before they can buy guns.

Read the full story in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

You’re welcome, sir!

Welcome to the site and what once was, a great State to live and raise a family.

Unfortunately, you’re joining us in turbulent times.

Where will you be living?  We’re in PWC.

And for the record, as to what I said before:

Be that guy.  You chose Virginia, like I did.  Step up and earn being a Virginian.  Your heritage is rebellion.

You should all stop thinking about another lobby day and start thinking about what you want and need to accomplish.

Identify the end goal and determine if it would be acceptable to most the people you align with. Work backwards from there.

Whatever course of action you want to take to achieve that identified end goal needs to be realistically feasible, acceptable, suitable, and distinguishable from other potential courses of action (especially ones with a history of failing or with a high probability of failing).

Basically, you need to assess whether the risk is worth the reward.

Lobby Day is not, and never has been, anything except a means to an end. If people don't wargame out way past lobby day, and have a realistic, achievable goal and a way to get there, they are wasting their time.

Preach.

You’re not wrong. AT ALL.  You said, what I was trying to over multiple posts, in a succinct and direct way.

No knock inferred or taken as such in any way.

Once again, I’ll do what I can - whether that is being the catalyst for a deeper conversation, another body standing silent in the streets of Richmond, as a partisan or even just as cannon fodder.  I’ve got a couple years left in me.

Either way, being a part of whatever it takes to bring a localized plight to a larger audience, which as we all know - will spread like a cancer - it’s worth the effort and sacrifice to stop it.

Thanks for all that you’ve done, man.  I’ll stand beside you, any and every day. Again.

I would advise that we do the same thing - in any state where the politicians enact laws that are clearly un-Constitutional.

I guess I could've worded that differently since it wasnt a threat. Any time LE is tasked with confiscating guns or even dealing with someone who is known to have guns, it is a high risk endeavor.  Sit in on an op plan where theyre executing a warrant to seize a gun.  The risks are real and they are high.

You have been here long enough to remember the DC/Beltway sniper events with John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo.

Don't you remember the police showing up at people's homes asking about specific rifles, and asking to do ballistic testing on their 223/5.56 rifles?

The VSP obviously keeps, or has access to, more than just "rifle, pistol, or shotgun".

That is correct. Every transaction prior to this has an "unknown" history after it. NFA items are always on paper, so those remain.

UBC, where it exists, can be circumvented by trading only with close and like-minded friends, claiming (to no one in particular) the transaction was conducted at a time when UBC did not exist.

They had to canvass dealers and look at 4473s to do that, and it involved WAY more agencies than the VSP.

You guys are welcome to disregard what I say, but as someone who has litigated against the VSP for years in gun cases and studied their forms and systems (including through discovery) in detail, it’s possible that I do have a clue.

Any FFL in VA can confirm that there is no make/model/caliber information provided to the VSP. It’s nowhere in any field on their computer or on the VSP form you fill out if they use paper.

The only way “that” happens is if the ATF gets involved and starts combing through 4473s and helping to identify the guns/owners for VSP. “That” doesn’t happen, realistically speaking, unless there is a particular dealer with a federal crime issue, like selling a rifle to a non-resident when the non-resident’s home state laws ban that type of gun. Like, for example, a Virginia dealer selling an AR-15 to a NY resident. That’s a GCA violation (922b3) and they will bring in the purchaser state’s LE as well.

The bottom line is that it's good to know and understand what "they" do and do not have. "They" could do what you're suggesting, in theory - but it would take enormous resources that "they" don't have, to do it at any scale. What you saw in the DC beltway sniper case was an enormous, multi-agency effort. Hundreds of people and tens of thousands of man-hours, that were tasked because there was somebody actually shooting at people. There is no way to do that for millions of people spread out across the entire state, merely because they "might" possess what is now a naughty no-no gun.

Thanks for your insight and information.

I guess I just distrust the government to the degree that I expect them to do whatever it takes, and expend whatever resources needed, to enforce things if it becomes a priority.

This comes from paying attention to events like the Beltway snipers, January 6th, and even a Maryland prosecutor going after a family member in a child custody/BS domestic violence case where they threatened me, out of their state, while looking for my family member's guns.

It is as clear as day.

Buy/sell what you want NOW. They WILL push it through. They are irate because of MAGA, and they will throw their fit in VA.

And when you got yours, they'll repeal the grandfather clause. Surrender them for $300 ea or get a felony, which surrenders them for $0. Oh, and while the FBI may not keep 4473 records, the VSP absolutely keeps records of transactions, so Jones can send the VSP to come shoot your kids and dogs.

Do you think Jones cares?

If you bought something at a VA gun store or dealer, you're on the list. Full stop. If you only bought privately, the people you bought from are on the list, and to save themselves from the wrath of mere criminal charges they'll rat you out.
