View Quote ![]() I bought a bunch of shares when MVIS dropped to $2 and have had a few gtc+eh "moon" sell orders in place for a couple weeks. Right now I'm tempted to add a much lower order in the 8s or 9s to scrape some 3x/4x profits, but pre-market has me thinking I might be aiming too low. Normally on Wednesdays I will mow the lawn and use the weed eater on the edges, but that's definitely not allowed today. First world problems ![]() |

@BM-ARM-DPMS-guns you were up significantly yesterday compared to the daily interest received based on you loaning your shares out. Has this upward movement made you reconsider loaning you shares, and possibly recalling all lended shares?

During the last big squeeze, after mvis hit its peak, did the stock price slowly drop over many days or did it drop like a rock?

View Quote Half over one day, then the rest was a slow decline over months. (If I recall correctly.) *edit* I looked at it. This should be pretty close: She hit $20 on a day in Feb, it dropped back... then hit $29 on 4/26/21. It dropped back and then was around $20 again in June. Then a slow decline for 7 months or so. |

I got so pissed off at this market, I haven't even looked at my portfolio in quite a while.
I see this thread on the first page again, so I figured something is up. So, I log in to check the numbers, and it's my Mavis that's UP. +10% Well, shit. |

Received notice of some options assignments today on some covered calls I'd sold. Interesting thing is, as we've discussed several times, with the volatility and remaining time value (expiration was into the future - not Friday), whomever was long the call left a lot of money on the table by taking my shares. Either they didn't know what they were doing, or they really needed the shares....
I'm happy either way, as I knew they'd get assigned and now I don't have to wait to reinvest the cash. ![]() Read into it what you will, but this is the first time I've personally had an early assignment. |

It would seem that the share price is being driven upward by those using borrowed shares as opposed to any actual company news. |

Intrinsic value (a call contract to buy 100 shares at $5 strike is intrinsically worth something when the share price is higher than the strike) and time value (a call contract to buy 100 shares at $7 may have been worthless yesterday, because the price was below that most of the day, but if the call doesn't expire until some time in the future it has time value for the stock price to rise and exceed the strike price). His call was assigned early, meaning the owner wanted the shares *now* rather than waiting for the intrinsic value to increase. That could be two things, maybe the call owner thinks the price is going to tank and wanted to exit the call at whatever intrinsic value it had, or like he said, perhaps someone needed those shares to cut their losses on short sales. |
