Reverse splits are almost universally viewed as a negative. The company is doing badly, and the share price is too low to support a dilution, or is going to be de-listed, or worse. The overall corporate history in the US with R/S' isn't good...the vast majority of companies that do it with the intent to remain in business go on into bankruptcy. There are a few notable exceptions, but not many. Remembering, again, that bankruptcy wouldn't be a game-ender for MVIS. It only screws shareholders if the corporation is heavily in debt, because shareholders get paid after debt holders...and half the time the debt holders don't even get paid. Microvision has no debt. The real danger with an R/S is it really rings the dinner bell for short sellers. The last time Microvision reverse split they might just have well have poured blood into shark-infested waters. Equity got peeled off shareholders so fast it was horrific. I personally lost something close to $20K after we wrote the loss off on taxes. This situation is significantly different, if management stays true to their word and is able to close a deal. They intended to stay in business after the last split, without much business to support them, and the shorts had a field day. If they split this time, presumably it would be done to enhance the business' value in an ongoing sale/merger negotiation. If that's a true fact, it would be lunacy to short the stock...the percentage loss to a short would (theoretically) remain the same as a $15 buyout at our current $1 share price. Margin calls would wreck a lot of people. It's that part of Sharma's little speech about selling all or one or more verticals that scares me. LIDAR for the automotive industry isn't mature...not sure I'll stick around to see how it pans out if they start doing hybrid sale shenanigans unless the smart speaker contract is back on the table, or Apple pushes forward with their XR solution. |

Once MVIS hits the 10 day compliance is there a good possibility itll start trending more upwards than staying around the dollar mark?

View Quote IMO it will, but much of the volatility that makes it a good swing trade will be gone. Investors will be bulking up their core holdings in the expectation of a sale. That's where we start getting much closer to the nitty-gritty of this thread's title BTW, we're a long way from organic compliance. The hedge funds that feed on MVIS blood will make a run at submarining the share price before this is over, count on it. Going to be expensive (they'll have to dump huge blocks of shares cheap), but they play the long game. I've seen some speculation they may hold off until day eight or nine, just to break shareholder confidence and enthusiasm. Seems insane the market is set up to facilitate the ruin of pioneering small American enterprises, but here we are. Guess it's the price MVIS pays for having never successfully marketed their tech. |

I expect this to happen....so much so that if I had a guarantee the announcement wouldn't happen while I stepped out, I would sell on day 7 or 8 at this high. Then buy back in. I think this is an elaborate pump and dump by a whale. Get the share 20-30 cents up and create FOMO and then BAM. Stop loss raid and steal back the shares they just sold. I would advise everyone to set their stop losses very low or remove them for the rest of the 5 days. |

I'm tired of the pump and dump. I set a limit order at 1.35. Hopefully there's a ton of after hours bullshit and it opens tomorrow like it did today and I can cash out my little (hopefully) $3000 position and pay off some revolving debt. Been a hell of a ride. Thanks, OP. I was just starting a COVID-19 work from home with no work and this came at the perfect time.

I really am starting to feel like I sould buy some calls on MVIS. I feel like some little bit of trash news is going to send it to $20.
What have y'all done to me. This new stock market makes no sense. |

I bought a few hundred shares of XSPA yesterday morning. It jumped from 1.70 to 5.00 right before the closing bell yesterday. Dayum.
Anybody know what happened? Now I'm wondering if I should sell at opening or see where it goes. I guess I'll sell enough to cover my buy-in. ETA: I now see how my stock app shows when a reverse split happens. |

Hoooly crap, wtf happened after hours?? Energy stocks got crushed.
Edit: my whole portfolio is down 14% after hours. What the f happened? Not seeing any headlines to justify this beyond the deficit being like $20T which everyone should have known about weeks ago. If things don’t bounce right back, it’s going to be a dark friggin day for the markets. |

Good day to buy GNUS. They issued more stock which crushed the price. Might be able to play the bounce

My best recent buys have been CCL (Carnival) and KSS (Kohls)

Just added 50% to my position in MFA since it’s down 25% in premarket. My entire portfolio looks like someone is trying to crash the market. Somehow they got all these sell positions to trigger after hours on EVERYTHING.
Edit: news is blaming corona v2. This is so stupid. States need to just say “no more lockdowns” and this crap will bounce right back up. It’s a buying day for sure |

Re bought into DGLy this morning at $4.10. That and TLRD are my only greens for the day
Also doubled down on GNUS at $3.32 |

Only thing I have that is up today is IZEA. it's up 33% and climbing. Only have 200 shares, but it's something.
ETA: And I sold almost all of it right at the peak for the day. Boom. Who made enough to buy some sushi for dinner? Me! |

MVIS is dangerously close to the sub-$1 level with 45 mins to go
|

Back into MVIS at 1.01, hope it closes over 1.00.
This is not a stock I would want to bet my retirement on but using discretionary funds it is quite a thrill ride. Hell, I have enjoyed chasing it more than the last half dozen movies I have seen. |

Rough day. I grabbed a few more Boeing shares since I'm confident it will go back up and I'll make some easy money. CCL and NCLH dipped enough for me to grab some again, hopefully it goes up to the levels it was at the last couple weeks.
Grabbed a bit more GNUS and ACB. XSPA has been steadily down since I bought some. Hopefully tomorrow looks good. If not, I'll at least hold everything until some time next week. |
|

Looks like it closed at a buck even, one more day toward compliance....
ETA. oops, maybe 1.01.... |

Damn, that's the kind of drama I can live without. Had a $10K MVIS fill-at-close order that didn't...
Upside, it's dry powder for tomorrow, not breaking the streak without a fight. With luck we'll get a significant dead-cat bounce across the board that may put a floor under us, but not counting on it. Near as I can tell my mutuals will be down about $40K today...just a paper loss, but it sure is stomach churning to watch. |
|

I don’t trust it.
Whoever bought that block probably is building it up with their other buys to slam it before day ten. Sorry that I’m being a negative Nancy. |
