It wasn't horrible, but I just had no desire for another play through. They were good, next to Zeta, I really liked Operation Anchorage. It's a throwback via a memory station that takes you back to the fight for Anchorage against the Chinese before the nukes go off. Lots of great loot from this one including a high level set of armor that doesn't require maintenance. Broken Steel is OK, the nice thing about it is it lets you continue playing the game after the normal ending. Lots more quest against the Enclave. Point Lookout was also very good but a little shorter than the other DLCs, if you liked Far Harbor from 4 , you'll like this one. The Pitt was my least favorite, it's rather involved with search and collect type quest, but does end up with some decent shoot 'em up, the gathering part was repetitions and a grind for me. In the past 5-10 years I have REALLY, REALLY dialed back how much time I spend gaming and I blame a lot of it on game series like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. I love those top tier M-rated sandbox RPG games that are so loaded with content you can spend 200 hours on it and still not do everything. We went to Suzume tonight (me and my two daughters). It's amazing. The animation is beautiful (like all of Shinkai's works). It's faster-paced than most of Shinkai's other works. It's also one of his saddest and most heartfelt works. It has some undertones about Japan's declining population, and the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami plays into it quite a bit. My poor 12-year old daughter cried her eyes out at the end.

And my off the wall pick of the night goes to…
“Aiyou de Mishi” (Aiyou’s Secret Room) is a thriller anime from China. I’m only two episodes in, but this one is certainly holding my attention. This one has a real creepy factor going, it starts out as two friends that visit a unique escape room theater that in and of its self is a thriller with a few edge of seat moments. The real story progresses as the MC returns home only to find that the strange occurrences from their adventure has followed him home. It’s a short show with each episode only 15 or so minutes long, but it really doesn’t seem to distract from the story. If you’re into thriller/spooky dramas, you might like it. |

I am really impressed with Tonikawa this season.
The last two episodes have covered little mini arcs that I found unremarkable when I read through them in the manga. In both cases, they made me laugh and feel feels, and I will probably never forget either of them. This is a case of the anime format elevating the source material. |

Been reading some LNs since I'm only watching a few of the new anime this season. I'm really enjoying Full Clearing Another World Under a Goddess With Zero Followers: The Weakest Mage in Class.
Spoilers for the first couple of chapters of the first book. Click To View Spoiler MC is an isekied mage with stats not only lower than every one of his fellow isekied classmates, but also lower than many of the locals. If mana capacity was measured like a bowl that fills with mana, his would be a dish. So he has to get tricky and learn to use what he has to its utmost. His aces in the hole are two special abilities: Calm mind and RPG player. The first allows him to keep a cool head regardless of what sort of ridiculous peril he's in, and the latter gives him a 360* 3rd person view of his surroundings when active. It undoubtedly does more, but it doesn't get revealed right away. Then there's the imprisoned goddess who talks him into being her only follower.... |
